I think I need to sell it off and start saving for something (perhaps a Python). I have a Cobra set up for pirating/bounty hunting, a Viper (both Mk 3&4) set up for bounty hunting, and the Keelback. I would love some more fire power and cargo capacity. I haven't played in about 2 weeks though, so maybe it's time to jump back in and sell some stuff off.

One thing that made life easier was dropping to only 1 ship. I used to have 2 or 3 stored up and would fly which ever one suited my needs.

Like I had a type 7 freighter setup for doing mining, and a type 6 setup for doing long distance trades/missions, and a cobra for bounties.

I always had to go back to the base they were stored at, so I never really explored. Dropping now to a single ship (python) I just go wherever the missions take me. Or if I read about a system with good trades I go there. Now with the Engineers I can fly to the remote places they exist and not worry about going back, getting another ship to bring out to change. Someday I'll save up enough for something like an Anaconda and replace the python.

That is a good point; I do end up staying local in the solar system. I think the furthest I ended up going out in all this time was about 88Ly. It gets tiring quickly to be trading ships around on a regular basis.

88 LY isn't too bad, if you have a big enough FSD and tank you can do that in 4-5 jumps. I'm far out in a system that took me 500 LY to get to. I can go just short of 16 LY per jump in my python. Perhaps you might want to look into an Asp? I've never owned one, but read many good reviews on them being versatile ships. They can have a 20+ LY jump range as well with the right internals.

It's all relative. I did 34 jumps tonight. 997 LY.

I suggest the Asp Scout. It's got a good mix of everything, very maneuverable, decent hardpoints, and a great jump range. As far as making tons of money, then you should probably get an Asp (regular) and start doing long-range missions. thumb.gif

EDIT: I'm having trouble finding Specialized Legacy Firmware. Anyone know a good source? I've been able to get (almost) all my other req'd mats from missions, but I haven't seen a single one for SLF at all.

Sounds good, thanks for all the advice! I'll look into an Asp most likely it sounds like.

You can always get a python later, but the asp series is way cheaper. Easier to acquire and move up from there.

The Python was a game changer for me. It's the point where you go from small potato's to the big leagues.

Is Elite:Dangerous a hard game to jump into as a new player? The game has always intrigued me but have never had a chance to try it. I played EVE Online many years ago and loved it but if I went back and tried to play now it would be really hard.
