I can't say I've pissed off all the factions though, that sounds off. Are you attacking people who are wanted locally, or using the scanner to find bounties in other jurisdictions? It is considered a crime to attack someone who doesn't have a local wanted status, regardless of how high their bounty may be in other areas. It also pisses factions off if you do that.

This was after the update last night and I'm still a noob so I've been sticking with local Wanted ships that I come across in USS areas.

Nice.

I have close to 100 hours into the game (since alpha), and since release I haven't taken on a difficult Anaconda till last night (I haven't done the assassination missions yet).

Took a good 7-9 minutes in my Viper. The seeker missiles didn't do hardly ANY damage to the hull either. 1% per 2 missiles. Mostly took it down with my beam lasers. Ended up using about 6 chaffs, 3 shield cells and down to 77% hull. $50,000 bounty. Not sure I want to take on a 150,000cr elite Anaconda...

IDK why but I love the challenge of taking a sidewinder up against targets like that. Kinda scared upgrading may make those kills too easy... I suppose If I upgraded I could move up to anacondas, but those things are scary as all hell...

On another note, I'm hating the empire atm... 30k worth of bounties for them... Now I have to go find a station somewhere outside of my hunting grounds...

Lol that is awesome. A few nights ago I thought I would be slick and dock super fast, I was on the wrong side of the station of course so I hammered my lateral thrust and turned my ship just cruising along annnnnnnnd slammed into the side of the station. Shattered my glass but made it in safely. After the initial fear of blowing up I thought it was pretty funny.

I tried flying drunk once. Big mistake. I crashed my Viper at full boost into the bars that project past the station opening.

Well, last night was an interesting and fun night in the Rift. (Long story to follow)

I started out by taking a kill mission for 150k, now that I see how to do them (thanks to you guys in this thread and the E:D sub-reddit). The very first USS I went into had an NPC that told me which system to look in. So, I jumped there. When I arrived, I saw an NPC Python near me, so figured I'd scan it. Sure enough, 43k bounty on it! So, I set about to interdict it. After about 5 minutes of a turning war in super cruise, I finally just flew straight and the NPC interdicted me instead. So I submitted of course, since it was my intention to fight anyway. Turned out to be a decent fight, and he didn't quite manage to ever take my shield down. So, with a 43k bounty, I figured I'd cash in at the local station before heading out for the kill mission.

Headed back out into super cruise and in search of USSs. First one just had a random hauler, but the 2nd had the target I was looking for. For reference, this is the ship I went into battle with (sorry they're hard to read since I was using the Rift):

LL
LL

A slightly upgraded Viper. Mostly C or E items, except the B missile rack. Of course, it was an Elite Anaconda. I fired chaff like a mad man, and it managed to drop my shields twice. The first time it took me down to about 92% hull while it was at about 80%. I let the shield recharge and went back for more. Took his shields down again, and fired everything I had. At this point, I realized that my seeker missiles were just about useless against the Anaconda. 2 did about 1% hull damamge at a time, and I only had 24 total. So after about 15 minutes of fighting, my shields were taken down again (used all 5 of my shield cells) and the Anaconda was still at about 63% hull and I was at 83. I decided to give up since I was out of cells and missiles and head back to the station to repair.

I had about 400k in credits, and I couldn't afford to upgrade my missile rack or beam lasers any further, so I instead upgraded my power distribution module (to allow for faster recharge of systems) and my shield cell to class A:

LL

I headed back out, and the second USS had the target again. Of course, it was back to 100% shields and hull. So, once again, I attacked. I was doing pretty well, keeping my shields up and managing to take it's shields down much quicker this time due to the A class distribution module allowing my weapons to cool quicker with less pips in them. I fired all the missiles as quickly as I could and got the Anaconda back down to around 60%. This took quite a while since the missiles didn't do much damage, and niether did my beam lasers. Just when I was thinking this was going to take too long, 3 sercurity ships jumped in and joined in the fight. With them attacking and distracting the Anaconda, another 10 minutes or so and I was finally able to take it out using just my beam lasers. It was quite fun overall, and the 53k bounty plus the 150k payoff was quite worth it.

PEW PEW: (I LOVE the look of the beam lasers hitting hull)

LL

I started the evening with 309k and ended it with 575k (did some bounty hunting for a bit in a RES as well). Not bad.
I look forward to interacting with more CMDRs with this update, as now I see more out there, but I fear I'll end up space dust in no time. Haha. Time to keep practicing...

Nice one!

Yeah, those guys are hard to take down, I would love to know what grade their internal components are though. If it were a human pilot in one those, we would have no chance - it would become a contest of who carries the most shield cells, and the Anaconda has a lot of internal components.
