(warning) Gigabyte isn´t offering any fan control anymore (z87-z97) - Page 21

Hello

I also have issue with Z97X-SOC
PRM of cpu fan does not depend on CPU load,
actually sometimes it works sometimes not
when it does not work cpu fan rpm is always near 500 and does not change event under 100% load and 90 C

can it be fixed somehow?

This. Use the right fan headers. Learn the steep learning curve of SpeedFan. Works perfectly.

Hi,
i have some problems with my Gigabyte Z97Soc-Force and Speedfan.
I was using Speedfan the last few years on my older Systems, but i just can´t find a way to use it properly at the moment.

I first used Version 4.51, now 4.52 beta4 but nothing really works.

Speedfan detects the IT8620E and 5 PWM-Speeds. But if i change the percantage it doesn't affekt the fans.
I connected Fans to all of the Headers (at the moment just to test the Fan-Control).
When i aktivate PWM 4&5 at the advanced options and change the percentage of PWM4/5 my System shuts down immedeatly. (like if someone pulled the power plug)

Temp 1&2 of the IT8620E seem to work, Temp3 shows -128°C.
Voltages and Fan-RPM seem to work too.

Do I need to set some spezial Settings in Bios/uefi to get Speedfan work?
I hope someone is able help me thumb.gif

Jonas

Edit: Controlling the Fan of my R9 290x works fine... so Speedfan itself seems to work.

This is a repost from this thread that should apply to you. I own a SOC. You own a SOC-Force. Part in bold is important.

CPU fan header (4pins) : not seen with Speedfan (no RPM, no speed control)
CPU opt fan header (4pins) : not seen with Speedfan (no RPM, no speed control)
SysFan1 header (4pins) : not seen with Speedfan (no RPM, no speed control)
SysFan2 header (4pins): seen as Fan1 with SpeedFan (yes for RMP and Speed control!)
SysFan3 header (4pins): seen as Fan2 with SpeedFan (yes for RMP and Speed control!)
SysFan4 header (4pins): seen as Fan3 with SpeedFan (yes for RMP and Speed control!)
SysFan5 header (3pins) : not seen with Speedfan (no RPM, no speed control)
SysFan6 header (3pins) : not seen with Speedfan (no RPM, no speed control)

Thanks to this new beta, I can control all my fans (connected to SysFan2-3-4 only) in my custom watercooling and adjust them not only with CPU temp but also with GPU temp.

Hi,
thanks for your reply, but i´ve already read the whole thread.

As said I've connected Fans to ALL Headers and can control NONE of them...

No, I haven't installed the App-Center because it brought a lot of failures with it, when i installed it on my old Win8.1 System.
Do I need to install it to use Speedfan with the Board?
No need for appcenter crap at all.

AFAIK, there are no bios settings interfering with SpeedFan.

Make sure you enable 'software control' for all fans in the Advanced tab and remember settings. I guess you know that. I just want to make sure. Just try Sysfan 2, 3 &4 then.

Hi,
i just solved my Problem...
I did an Bios Restet and Update. (right afterwards it didn´t work.) Now 3 restarts later Speedfan controls the first thee Fans thumb.gif

I really don´t know why, but since now everything is okay thats irrelevant.
Thanks!

hello

I am going to add 2 arctic f8 fans at the back of my case to complete a proper push/pull air flow before the crazy hot japanese summer starts.

I have a 200mm at the front, a NIC31 aftermarket cpu cooler and they are both (well) controlled by Speedfan 4.51 right now

since both fan headers on my Z97 mobo are taken I am planning to use this splitter

is there anything I should do ahead of plugging them in on the speedfan software side to get the f8 fans properly recognized? or do you guys reckon it will be just plug and play
