A couple of hours ago, CD Projekt RED revealed a new gameplay trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Naturally, a lot of gamers wondered from which build this gameplay footage is coming from and we are happy to say that it's undoubtedly coming from the PC version.
First and foremost, we strongly suggest downloading the uncompressed video from Gamersryde. This video is around 1.3GB and shows the full graphical quality of CD Projekt RED's latest gameplay footage.
The main difference between the PC and the console versions is unquestionably Nvidia's hardware accelerated Fur effects. In The Witcher 3, wolves and other creatures will receive some special 'fur' treatment. Thankfully, this new gameplay trailer packs wolves and at the end of it we get to see Nvidia's Fur tech in action.
However, we do have to note that the game's framerate felt sluggish (or at least not as smooth as we'd hoped). While the video itself was running at 60fps, the game seemed to be running at fixed 30fps. This phenomenon can be witnessed on both the YouTube video and the uncompressed 60fps video, suggesting that The Witcher 3 was not running with fluid 60fps. That or CD Projekt RED's video encoder has messed things up. Moreover, there is noticeable pop-in of distant objects, even on the PC build. Oh, and there is hair clipping.
I used to be excited about it pushing the envelope here. Not anymore. Yes I watched the gamersyde source, and while it's competent, it's a pretty heavy downgrade from what we've been seeing which is expected I suppose even if disappointing. Yes, I still look forward to playing it and expect it to be an excellent RPG.
I think there's still some work to do on the graphics side of things. For an example of what the engine is capable of, take a look at Geralt's face on that uncompressed video. It looks fantastic.
I think you guys have a serious case of first world problems. The graphics look great considering it is free roam. You can't expect every object to have insane detail in such a game.
I have to agree. When you consider the size that this open world will be it looks incredible. The combat and movement of Geralt looks so much more natural than the previous games, cannot wait for my collectors edition
Ehhh Watch Dogs looked good but not crazy impressive like The Division. Not to mention that, other than a few minor things I thought Watch Dogs on PC maxed out looked pretty damn close to the E3 stuff. Either way, I still thought it was a very pretty game...that water was the best!
I also don't think The Division will receive that much if any downgrades. The team working on it I believe are very passionate about getting the best game they can out of it.
im actually surprised to read what some people write here
if this is nothing to be excited about I donno what games you guys play because me and my hardware rarely see games look as good as the witcher 3. and dragon age 3 doesnt look any better than bf4.

I don't know what you just watched but based off of the uncompressed footage I got from the OP this game hardly looks better than maybe a slightly upgraded Skyrim. I'm not saying it doesn't look good...just not as impressive as it did before (downgraded perhaps?).
As far as GAME PLAY goes it looks like it might be pretty good if it doesn't get repetitive.
If we're talking graphics then, compared to what's out or is coming out, it's not super impressive. Looks good, sure, but not amazing. Why is it wrong to discuss this? It's hardly complaining.

The only thing mediocre that I saw in that video was the fact the run down the hill was hindered by a goose. Surely the goose should have been punted out the way mid stride rather than forcing you to stop dead. Things like that niggle me.
