My laptop was sold for a very high price, and with aforementioned paycheck and sponsoring from my parents, I can probably get this rig fired up by the end of the month. I have a LAN-party to attend at which we will try to break a streaming world record, so the streaming rig needs to be up to the task. Since my rig is the most powerful one of all of my friends' mine will get that task.
Decided on a H105 to cool the CPU while I save up for the watercooling parts. Also working on a deal to swap my 780Ti for an R9 290 Windforce card + cash. With that cash I'll grab another Windforce and with what's left of the money then I'll save up to invest in a third Windforce card. That means I can get proper cooling on the three R9 290s without having to watercool them immediately.UPDATE!
Pulled the trigger on some parts:
- Corsair Graphite 230T received
- Crucial MX100 256GB received
- Corsair Hydro H105 received
- Ducky Shine 3 TKL (White LED, Cherry Blue) on the way
I came home from school and knew the packages had arrived. So I rushed to open the packages. The H105 and SSD where packed together, and though the H105 had some dented fins, it was fine, no damage that would interfere with cooling performance. The SSD was completely spotless. Which brings me to the case, the box had a hole in it, which got me really scared. I took the case out of the box and inspected it closely, nothing to find. My mom walked in the room, and spotted a dent in the sidepanel from 10 foot away.
So the case has to go back to the seller, they have to inspect it and send me a new one back.
Meanwhile the keyboard is extremely rare in The Netherlands, and the shortest delivery time on the desired MX switches and LEDs was this Tuesday.
Now all I need to get it ready for LAN is:
- EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2
- AOC I2369VM
Well, LANparty was called off, but that doesn't mean this build isn't going to be up and running before the end of this week.
Monitor #1 is on the way and the replacement case should be here tomorrow as well.
PSU is going to be ordered sometime this week and now I just hope my 780Ti can be swapped in time. Oh, and I should not forget a copy of Windows, not sure wether I'll get 7 or 8, leaning towards Win7.
Hoping I can get some systems build for other people to get some money to complete this build up to the watercooling. Hard to get $3850 for a computer as a 16 year old student...UPDATE!
Well, my parents had something different in mind, so the PC is still not up and running. The replacement case came in undamaged, and the screen I bought was a good purchase, so far it has only been tested at 720P with my PS3, but it looks great. So that was a good choice. Ordered my PSU, and on tuesday my 780Ti will be sold, and I'll get two R9 290's before the end of the week hopefully. Can't wait to finally power this thing on. (BTW: the difference between my price for the 780Ti and 2 R9 290s is enough to get me a copy of Windows 7 Professional, just what I was looking for.
Colour scheme for the build will be red and black until watercooling gets installed.Edited by TTheuns - 11/8/14 at 12:48pm
