ps i updated from 3.92 to 3.93 firmware and i feel like i got slight swamp cursor, any way reverting??

I just unpacked the castor i ordered to replace my broken avior sk/7000 and i definitely feel a big difference with regard to the wheel. The wheel of the avior (although its broken now) is a lot stiffer and the steps can be felt more clearly. The one of the castor feels a lot softer in direct comparison and there is a noticeable difference in the click-sound of the LMB and RMB.

speaking of button latency what are the numbers for the latency of the main buttons as of the latest firmware?

I am going to get a Castor from Amazon Vine in the next days, unfortunately it has not shipped yet.

Let's see how the wheel and shape will be. I am also not sure if I will like the rubber inlay on the left side.

The mouse arrived. Funny packaging, almost thought they really turned the mouse cable into a bag handle...^^

It's very nice, I like the shape more than that of the Avior! I also like the rubber side, and that's a surprise, as I just cannot stand the rubber sides of the Razer mice. More praise about this later.

The configuration software is very nice as well, latest firmware 3.93 was already installed. Hyper Fury Pro XXL pad scored 80% in this test, the LOD adjusts nicely down. The software doesn't require an installation, just click it, make adjustments, dismiss it. Smart and easy.

Oh, it's almost going to half-review length, these first impressions. I will throw in some G303 comparisons later. If you just cannot stand the shape of the G303, this one might be just the thing you want! The 3310 Sensor however feels a bit floatier/softer than the 3366. Doesn't matter which DPI setting, I have the DPI due to this a little lower than on my G303.

Didn't notice any button lag and especially like the shape and placement of the side buttons. Must be careful not to press them both at once, but they are easy to reach and press and feel very good. The main buttons are not spring tensioned, but feel very good to click.

The mouse clicks in general are quite silent, my Avior produces more audible clicks.

The wheel is very smooth, but not too smooth. It's a close thing, all in all I prefer the G303 wheel. Some sight noises get produced scrolling up and down. The middle button click is very nice though, requires less force than for my Avior or G303. In general the mouse is in clicks and sensor feeling on the soft and smooth side, could be a little snappier.

The mouse feet are gliding very good, better than the G303 e.g.. The cord is textile, but very flexible, more so than that of my G303. Very nice.

I have quite large hands and its getting close on the RIGHT side of the mouse. There is a gentle grove for the ring finger, if you have a long pinkie it will rub over the mousepad. The mouse is a lot FLATTER than the images suggest! It is less high at the rear end than the G303 and has the hump in the center.

The coating is the usual Mionix coating. It is smooth but has no grip and mostly attracts fingerprints. Likely to wear out like all the previous Mionix mice, too. I mostly used the G303, so cannot say if my Avior would have worn out over time, I have rather dry fingers but the fingerprints were immediately on the mouse nevertheless.

The shape is really great!

Only gripes so far: Sensor just not the 3366, it is good but not quite the Logitech exclusive 3366. The other thing is 3 dpi steps. But I only want 2! Any pointers how to get rid of the third dpi step in the software? Would be very much appreciated, thank you.

edit: forget to mention its also very lightweight, something I like

TL;DR, short summary:

I like the mouse, the coating is the traditionally easy to smear and spotty Mionix coating, unfortunately. As it doesn't affect functionality I will focus on the technical aspects. After a few hours even my dry hands smeared the mouse quite thoroughly. When will Mionix change that coating!? frown.gif

The mouses glides very well, is very light and the grip nice for palm and claw. Fingertip might find it a bit too front heavy. Also be careful if you have long fingers or very large hands, my pinkie is already rubbing the mousemat. The thumb buttons are very nice, but by button shape and position so close together that pressing the forward one is likely to hit the back button, too.

Tracking is on the smooth side of things, like everything on the mouse. The mousewheel is very silent for me and perhaps a bit too soft. I would like all that a bit more snappy, the PMW3366 or at least Logitechs implementation has an edge here, I also like the wheel of the G303 a damn lot.

The shape is very easy to fall in love with and get accustomed to, so it's a real alternative for players who cannot get used to the G303 shape. The mouse glides also very well, better than the G303 IMO.

What surprised me was the rubber inlay, it puts Razer's to shame as it is a perfect fit and feels absolutely great. And I actually hate rubber in general!
Software/Firmware woe: Would like 2 dpi steps instead of 3, cannot change that, unfortunately.

All in all this mouse is well worth a try. For Mionix Users, it's not really a massive upgrade over the Avior, which has IMO a better and a little more rigid wheel in general.

If the sensor is 1 cm higher, the mouse will be ruined.

Not a problem on mine. Haven't had any issues, actually.
