Here's the first picture of G.Skill's gaming-grade RipJaws 4 DDR4 memory modules. Featuring a slightly new heatspreader design, albeit the same flashy colour options as its DDR3 predecessors, RipJaws 4 will initially ship in quad-channel kits of 16 GB (4x 4GB) and 32 GB (4x 8GB); in time for Intel's Core i7 "Haswell-E" HEDT platform. G.Skill's range will begin at DDR4-2133, going all the way up to DDR4-3000. The ones above DDR4-2133 will ship with XMP 2.0 profiles that let you run the advertised speeds with a simple setting in the UEFI setup program.
Newegg has it up for sale claiming they are in stock already: Click
OcUK pre-order (along with a bunch more options for DDR4) for those in UK: Click
Prices seem decent compared to the other options- 16 gigs of DDR4 at 2666 MHz and Cas 15 are $299.99
Edit: A couple of interesting notes from Gibbo
Quote:
As with all DDR4 the product is in severe shortage and as such the early adoption price on the G.Skill is rather high, we predict these prices to fall by around 20% in late September. We are being as honest and upfront as possible so please bear this in mind. DDR4 is so short simply because Intel moved the launch date forward by over a month which has caused DDR4 memory to be in shortage.
Now for our exclusive Avexir value overclocking SKU's Platinum series using Hynix IC for great overclocking results, they have no thrills looks but these bad boys clock quite well being Hynix IC which offers the best clocking we have seen out of Samsung, Micron and Hynix.
RipJaws, just what a business PC needs, yea it's really good news the DDR4 manufacturers are right on time for release but this kit just screams "I'm 15".
Even if more expensive, I'm going with Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4, it's slightly more sophisticated and will look beautiful in my new chassis.
I guess my red theme days are coming to an end, getting older, developing into an adult. dammit
Well MeanBruce, I don't like to tell you but growing up sucks, its awful, boring , tedious and I miss being a kid, so..... I refuse to grow up
I do however want low profile ram because I am an Air cooler so take that elitist custom loopy people....
But Flashy heatsinks all the way!
Insurance greg. I dont want release day to come and i hit up MC for the 5960X + Motherboard but have to wait for days to get the DDR4. By ordering now it insures no delays in setting the beast up
BTW - 290 Shipped with code "VCO" and Overnight if you're a premier member
$300......man that's high, but its DDR4... I might have to upgrade after a couple of months ( I hope prices drop for this stuff to like $200) and jump on the X99 Platform... I want a $300 hexacore!

Right because people look inside the chassis in business PCs all the time. There might as well be a clown inside, nobody will know... Business PCs don't usually have windowed side panels.

true, but still is a hard sell at those prices, this reminds me of when DDR3 launched, but I remember those being like $400-$500 for 2GB.
I remember paying $200 for 2GB of DDR2 near the end of 2006 (around when the core 2 duos released), and right after that it went up to $300 for 2GB for the first part of 2007. Then around 2008 it was like $40.
Not really. If most of us are going to spend 999.99 for a processor and 250+ for a motherboard. Whats another 300 dollars for memory. These aren't mainstream parts. These are top of the line

Prices for the 4x4 2400 kit doesn't seem that bad to me considering its almost the same as the ridiculously priced 2x8 DDR3 2400 cas 10 dominator platinum kit.
I think I'm going to order some of the black ones today.
