Hey Everyone!
So a week ago I decided to throw Mayhems Clear UV Bye into my RedVBlue (Corsair Vs. Asus) Build.
Here is a picture of the system before:
And after adding my Distilled and 2 drops of Liquid Utopia (similar to PT Nuke) I Added about 15 drops of Mayhems Clear UV Blue dye to my loop for the look I wanted
Here is what that looks like:
Ignore the weird sparkles, that's what an iPhone camera and air bubbles does lol
Summary:
I was very impressed with the look, when the UV Lights are off, the water appeared clear (see below) but when ON it glowed a nice UV Blue that tied together the res+lines!
Rant/Complaint:
Dear Mayhems,
Don't advertise: Please note: Mayhems Dye does not contain any biocide so we recommend either a Silver Kill Coil, PT Nuke or similar product. - See more at: http://www.mayhems.co.uk/shop2/uv-clear-blue-10ml.html#sthash.jCdH59Rm.dpuf
If it hasn't been tested with "similar products."
Maybe this is just with Liquid Utopia, but here is what happened.
4 Days into using it, my water started looking greenish, and when I shone a light at my res you could see these green traces that looked like a fog machine rising from the pump. I assumed it was like just the dye mixing, but on day 5 (yesterday) I woke up and my res was cloudy as hell. I could not even see to the other side. (Note: before this I went 4 months with DI+Utopia NO ISSUES)
I took some pictures as I flushed my system today, I was appalled and disgusted with what Mayhems dye did....
(1 Month of water before the dye is on the right, Mayhems aftermath is on the left:
That doesn't look very "Clear" to me....
Here's what it looks like with a light shone through.
Mayhems aftermath:
Notice it is barely transmitting light, and it has a translucent haze.
3 Months of DI + 3 drops of Liquid Utopia (Per month so thats 9 drops in this bottle)
This bottle is full because its accumulated 3 months. Its my transfer bottle that Ill reuse after its been treated properly.
I just want to say:
I'm disjointed that Mayhems says to add a biocide, but adding one either messed with the dye, or the dye is just poorly made.
In the 25+ products bye Mayhems I have NEVER Had an issue, but apparently the one I wanted most is not satisfactory D:
I will be resorting to DI until Mayhems addresses this issue, seeing that I spent like $20 on the dye and shipping, I am disappointed with what I got :\
Feel free to discuss
