Skyrim SKSE/ENB issue

Thread Starter
So i just went to start modding Skyrim on a new computer however when i install SKSE and the enb files at the same time skyrim will crash as its about to load into the game off the main menu.

If i just install SKSE the game will run fine. If i just install enb it will run fine. But once if install both together it crashes.

Just wondering if any one know how to fix this issue? Also i have not installed any mods yet at all so its not that i was just trying to set up SKSE and enb first.

Computer is a 4770k with a R9 295x2 if it makes any difference to this happening.

does the ENB you selected already have the base ENB files from enbdev.com (some ENB setups will tell you to install ENB before using their settings to overwrite)

The enb files im using are just the ones off enbdev.com not a preset. I just copied the enb files into my skyrim folder that you get from the enb website. It will work fine when i load it up i can see in the top corner that the enb has it installed properly it has those few lines of info.

Then if i install SKSE Skyrim boots up but as soon as i start a game the load screen will come up then as its about to go into the game it will crash.

But i've also tried installing SKSE on its own and no problems either. Only when the two are installed together am i having this issue.

are you using the injector or wrapper method

edit: you should also check if direct X is updated. the enb WILL crash if its not updated.

edit2: should also note that programs that can affect the game can cause ENB to not function correctly(e.g fps counters, Overlays, recording)

Injector version. When i use the wrapper version it will crash the same way it would when i had SKSE and the enb injector version installed together. Which i dont understand since im installing it onto a vanilla skyrim u think it would be fine.

After looking around a bit some people have said they were missing the version of directX they needed for the enb. Since its a new computer i think that might be the case and explain why the wrapper version does not work but the injected version does. Does any body now which version of directX i need for the enb.

The newest directx includes the important previous ones too. Grab the newest one and you're good to go.
