That is a minor problem and only aesthetic (but I am with you CasualCat) I have bought it from a German distributor, the mobo smelled strong, as a new mobo.
Now that I have taken care of the ram module wire thing. The computer works very well and it overclocks really good (minus the hdds problems).
For me the real problem is the alpha like BIOS, in other forums I have a lot of people asking me for help with non POST and/or endless reset loop gigabyte x99 boards (right know one with a gaming 5), and this is driving me crazy, because even if you go to all the gigabyte region sites the last BIOS for all are dated: 18/9/2014 and even Betas seriously!!.
Now I have helped to go through the problems (9 in other forum and another one right now) and help other people with their mobos so they can enjoy their product, and last I checked I wasn't getting anything from gigabyte except a "bad" mobo lol
How should know any average user the existence of newer beta BIOS in tweak town forums, that without counting my fellow spanish and dutch that don't understand English very well.
And today They have updated all the mobos except my model : Gaming 7 (basically exactly the same as the G1 model), well let's say that with all the problems with the hard drives and their partitions that I have, I feel insulted due the lack of bios support, and even more seeing that my mobo is the only one not updated.
And here we have Stasio and Sin trying to help, but in spanish and dutch forums there is no even one representative to be seen, Where are they?
Curiously gigabyte spain had the annual dinner-meet with representatives of webs, shops and distributors to present their X99 MOBOS and NUCs.
