Lol, i figured first page someone would badmouth consoles but the very first post, really? Why did you even click on it then? PC Superior race is getting pretty pathetic.

I'm not badmouthing the XB1 or consoles, just the Xbox version of Minecraft. It's not actually a port... it's more like an official clone of the original Minecraft with completely different code and different devs, so the features are quite different.
If they got the PC version (with mods?) to run on the XB1, I'd be thrilled. But the original game is so messy that Mojang basically HAD to hire another dev team and start from scratch on consoles

I can understand that sentiment 100% for most games, but Minecraft with mods literally makes the game 1000x better. I'm not sure I can think of any game that benefits from mods as much as Minecraft does.
FTB Monster is meh. Resonant-Rise/YCP is probably the best modpack to date, though 1.7 ones are starting to surface.
Once you play modpacks like that, you can never go back...

Ya, the MC modding scene is pretty crazy. They somehow shoehorned an extensive community modding API into a game that isn't really stable enough for big mods in the first place. Any decent modpack has 100x the content vanilla MC has.
Nothing else comes close, not even the TES or Source communities.
I love my 360 edition minecraft... of course I've never played the PC version and I only play on creative and use it to relax and "explore" my world digging and using TNT underground lol

No one badmouthed the console, just the game. This is why PC master race is masterace. Majority of console users jump to accusations ridiculously quick.
Well... if the dev team was able to make this use four threads of the console, this may be the first released 1080p@60FPS game for the next gens (IIRC). Now that that I got that out of my system:
I'm glad to see a $5 upgrade option. It's going to make a lot of people happy. Only thing I want to see now is the option of reducing FPS to 30 to use a 32x texture pack. This should also have a lot less lag and delay. Redstone systems should be vastly improved too.
And about mod packs... It's all about custom packs...

The XB1 GPU is probably overkill for Minecraft, I bet it could easily run 32x.
