Is it possible to cover the window w/ a white sheet while taking pictures? That plus a tripod makes photos super easy.

Never saw much of a point to shooting raw myself. Just means more time editing. I try to avoid that whenever possible. tongue.gif

Totally jelly of the board and CPU. DDR4 is just way too expensive for me to consider X99.

I hear you on that... Hence why I'm hoping once I have the cash it's gone down a bit so the dual upgrade in our house isn't quite as pricey!

@lowfat I was thinking the exact same thing! I'm not sure what tripod is good though. What do you use?

I actually got mine at quite a discount after bargaining with the sales guy for a while. =D

Tripods aren't all that important for we are trying to shoot. I have one of the cheaper tripods the camera shop had. Can't even tell you what brand. I've had it for 5 years or so and it is still going strong.

So the 5960X I got (Batch: L418C675) is a below average chip.
Couldn't get it stable at anything above 4.2ghz without pushing above 1.35V.
Temps I'm just not comfortable with.
In any case, this will have to do for now.
Validation

Phase 2 will commence in Nov/Dec with plans to:
1. Swap for the AQC D5 aquabus pump
2. Finish up the custom cables
3. EK Ram blocks
4. Construct an acrylic/aluminum bottom "chamber" cover
5. Maybe, just maybe a new 5960X and 900 series gpu upgrade.

With this, I am glad to announce Phase 1 has ended. biggrin.gif
Thank you all for following me in this quick build log and I sincerely hope to see you in Phase 2!

Those D5 pumps is the only pumps for me, I have three of them (2x Swiftech MCP655's and one EK-D5 (Lowara) with PWM-cable which have worked great for me. thumb.gif
I just have to say that the EK-Dominator X4 blocks is wasted money, I have two of them and it is the first and last time I will use them. Yes, they look awesome, but that is also all there is with them.
Acrylic/aluminium bottom sounds very interesting, did that with my previous build and it got good, but it is some work.

I think I broke the speed dial on mine. And I can't seem to get any reading off the pwm header. Weird.
I'm not complaining though. It runs fast and is absolutely silent.

I'm considering getting a two pump setup next, but I'm not sure which dual pump top has the opening for the aquabus connector. Maybe EK?

I have never used PWM on the one D5 that I have that have that "feature", I just run it at the PSU with "4" in my ongoing build. I used to have XSPC Dual D5 5 1/4" bay reservoir with 2x D5's and it worked great, but it had some troubles so now I am doing 2x EK-D5 X-Res 140's instead.

I have no experience with aquabus reservoir, so I cannot help you with that.

So I had a little test with my 5960X again after the bios update.
Surprised but I got it to boot at 4.7ghz at 1.34V. Pity it went to 101 BSOD after 12mins of OCCT. devil.gif
Gonna run some more tests over the weekend.

Also, I'm having thoughts of getting an SMA8 in view of phase 2.
