There are a number of things you can try. Does the ram work when you dont enable xmp? You can go to the ram timings anf enter them manually and try a bit slower speed like 2400 or something to see if that works. Try adding some voltage to your ram as well with xmp enabled, that could do the trick.
It kinda sucks that you got into x99 first sice its by far the hardest chipset to oc lol

I know OC can be very different from CPU to CPU etc etc, but when I got a RAM set that was so called made for the X99 chip I were very surprised its didnt work out-of-the-box with XMP profile 1. mad.gif
Yes, all on deault has been rock solid all the time, since I set it up back in November or so. thumb.gif
I may try upping the volt on the ram, but currently playing a game I do NOT want to crash on, so maybe later. It just sucks to be running on 2133 mhz, when I know some games like Fallout4 really are effected by higher mhz ram speeds...

That's what I thought, Thanks. It would be nice to have Carbon version. Not worth money and work I would have to do to replace it.

Does MSI let the techies do a review prior to release or only after it's releases?

Both... I'm sure they'll get their hands on this one pretty quick. It's the best looking board out & it's feature packed. Not sure it's another X99 board out there, except the ASRock Extreme 11 & I don't think they produce it anymore

It just hit me to check the MSI RAM compatibility page again (which I used before I got the ram), and I found this for my ram (CMK16GX4M4A2666C15)
http://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/support/X99A-SLI-Krait-Edition.html#support-ocmem
CMK16GX4M4A2666C15 2666 2666 1.2V
CMK16GX4M4A2666C15 (Profile2) 2800 2800 1.35V

So according to this page the ram should work on 2666 mhz, but not with the Profile 1, its manual setting I guess. Any idea on what those settings are? Just manual change it to 2666 mhz with 1,2v and go?! ph34r-smiley.gif
And should also work on 2800 mhz with profile 2, but then I guess I need to set blc(?) to 125 which I know is not advised.

jarleh boot up then run cpu-z then goto spd and check the timings for XMP there that should give you a broad idea off what settings to run for it though you might need to tweak it a bit thumb.gif

i'd taken my X99A SLI Plus out for reasons and I noticed something on one of the ram slots from the rear...
Looks like a pretty bad solder job! And the board is going back...in fact the soldering on the RAM pins looks bad all round

So here's why I'm taking the board back for replacement...

And here's just what looks like poor soldering on several pins

yeah that's just a bad solder that's pretty unlucky i got an open box send by amazon and my board had dings in it they rma'ed it instantly tho smile.gif
post #2039 of 3119
Aye Amazon is good for RMA's, I got my board swapped out as I noticed it on the 27th day and there's a 28 day DOA policy so it didnt have to be RMA'd.
I get a spare IO bracket, SLI bridge and sata cables too wink.gif

hey

Hey…

Who in here is using the “Aquaero 6 XT blue USB fan controller, graphic LCD, touch control, IR remote control" to control pump and fan. Actually just pump for now...

I'm asking because I hive a small problem with pump...

When I use CPU1 header to control the pump, it doesn’t keep any setting that apply. It return back to default, using MSI Command center even when i save a profile setting.

The pump I’m using is EK-XTOP Revo D5 PWM - Plexi (incl. pump.

The EK-D5 ( PWM Response ) 1450 to 4800 PWM, When use CPU1 or CPU2 header I hive to just it manually set temp to 40c/50% 50C/60% 60c/75%, Which it does work as the temp rise to 55c the pump speed up 2400 to 3348 which it supposed to.

What it doing is when play games temp seat about 51c to 54c and the MSI command center reset back to default 30c/35% 40c /45% which make pump drop speed to 1450 and temp on cpu rise 60c to 75c and command center doesn’t just itself to speed up the pump,

I hive to go in msi command center and just temp manually and raise 50%/45c and them the pump speed up and temp on cpu drop back to 49c/51c.

“So try use the Aquaero 6 xt to control the pump, but doesn’t work. I no that it’s not a Aquaero Pump. But D5 pump do work. And hive tested the pump in difference speed. So I no the pump is working fine.”

On any fan header that are PWM control. The max speed I get 2000 PWM, no matter what configuration I set to, it stay at 2000 PWM. I so have a powerjusted 3 ultra, but doesn’t hive PWM to control the pump. Only speed senor. The EK-XTOP Revo D5 PWM has fore wire's power 12v and one yellow and one blue.

The blue wire = speed control
The yellow wire = speed senor

Can anyone please shed some light on this matter?

How to setup this stupid pump...

Its working fine with CPU1 or CPU2 header and MSI command center, BUT I hive to go in there manually to just the temp/speed. Every time boot the system.

Thanks
