Yeah I agree, there's little quirks in the Gaming 7 that I brought up to MSI, but they didn't want to or couldn't understand.
If my overclock fails I get a hard lock, when I reboot after that I get a 04 - 55 error repeating, even after lowering the settings, it takes clearing the CMOS with the button on the back to fix it.
MSI just wanted to blame other hardware, though it seems to have been kind of fixed in the latest BIOS and doesn't happen as frequent, still get the hard lock if I go too far with the oc, but not the 04 - 55 that takes a few fails before it shows again..lol.

I spent 20 minutes comparing the number of bios updates MSI has released for their various X99 boards and its very interesting. Most of the
boards they've released have about at least 6 bios updates. My Godlike just three. Maybe they're waiting for something. Who knows.

The godlike was a much newer board whilst most of the others were from release

jin check in the settings if you haven't defaulted to the digital output it's the little wrench if i remember right i got pretty salty after all the problems with the realtek codec after what 10y? shoulda known better swapped to a soundblaster card again and goodbye problems (no more retarded fps spikes in csgo for that matter or some other games)

going to default to a dac later on but for now just getting rid off both the killer garbage and realtek codec that should never ever be on a 450+ $/euro board (my age old asus board had a audigy 2 i miss those days frown.gif ) with those 2 gone i'm really happy with my gaming 9 besides the worst layout in history but it seems all X99 boards share that issue

your control panel look like this? Also did you mess with the audio toggle switch on the motherboard that initializes the rear jack or the front audio panel? you have to select either or, wont get both. I don't have the front panel connected so mine looks like the above. I'm using the digital output but I have that adapter plugged in to the back of the mobo just in case I decide to change my cans in the future.

I would highly recommend using msi live update once your machine is stable and have it re-install everything once you update your bios firmware (which I'm not sure if you can do in windows, I did it with a usb in the bios)

either way report back.

Thanks

No, it's been mentioned plenty of times that a pci sound card is a waste of resources unless you're making commercials for the radio or are a music producer.

om1kron sadly not really true i'd love to agree if it wasn't for realtek's codec being a piece of **** that shouldn't have left their q&a department.... with the realtek driver i had retardly high DPC calls (still have some off them but nvidia is to blame for those) i went from the realtek codec on my Gaming 9 ack > soundblaster Z and you do notice a difference with a proper headset but it isn't the big difference in sound as it was 10years ago

the biggest difference is swapping to a proper dac / amp combo though but i need my mic for streaming / ts3 usage so i'd still be stuck with high DPC calls from the realtek driver

Yea I just fixed the realtek audio issue, it was that "switch" on the board that I had to slide to the right to enable the 6.3mm jack thumb.gif

But I have another issue, the LED Lighting doesn't work, it's always stay at a constant REd color. I can't change the color. I downloaded the MSI Gaming app to try and change the led color, but nothing happen, all of the lighting effects dont work either. Then I downloaded the MSI Mystic Light app on my Android phone , but that doesn't change the color either, eventhough the Bluetooth on the phone is connected and paired with my PC. Is there something that I have to turn on in order to change the LED lighting?

msi gaming app has to always be running, uninstall and reinstall it completely and you should be good.
