Hi all just wondering do my scores above look really low for a 840pro ?

539 MB/sec. That doesn't seem slow to me. I mean, compare that to the advertised maximum possible speed of the 840 Pro.

I think there is no "should" or "shouoldn't" for it. Just try it both ways and see if you can detect any difference, to see if it's worth consuming an extra couple of gigabytes.

If you do anything that uses high queue depths, then sure, go ahead. Otherwise, it won't make a difference.

are these normal results for mine?

Imho it looks normal for the drive connected to ASMedia 6Gb port. If it is connected to ASMedia port consider reconnecting it to faster port controlled by Z77 chipset.
