Anyone interested in starting Archeage? All of the servers have a massive wait time right now, so I thought it would be cool to coordinate with a few fellow forum members to band together of a certain server.

I was thinking Kyrios or Aranzeb. I am located in North America, EST time zone.

I will stay in queue for a couple hours, and then I crash, and have to start over again at 3,000. Unplayable until they increase capacity or something.

Clearly the game is a hit if this many people are trying to play. I played a decent amount in BETA, got up to level 16 and really enjoyed myself. Just wish I could play.

Would rather say that there is too few servers opened. It may be a hit now, but won't be for long until they fix crashes/laughable queues/patron status problems etc.

Yup so the queues have sorta died down, but they are anywhere from 100-3000 depending on the time of day and server.

Im in the Ezi server playing as a HIrani named Sadmoto if anyone wants to party up!

I also have a question about housing if anyone is playing from here;
I have been told you NEED patron status to buy a house, but no one will tell me exactly why other then "because trion wants your $" But Im trying to find out what part of the process requires patron, mostly if there is a way for f2p members to have a house.

first I was told you had to be patron to pay taxes, I look up that you can maker certificates as non-patron, and pay taxes through those.
Next I was told you had to be patron to buy the house plans, after looking that up, you buy them with gilda stars, which you get as non-patron.

All I can think of is they have it required when you choose the land you want, and if you NEED patron, I'm curious if you only need patron when you purchase the land, or if you have to keep patron to keep the land.

I wish I could get a straight answer about this but the ingame chats are worse them WoW. xD

AFAIK you need patron to purchase (or lay down a spot) but you can not have patron and keep it as long as you pay taxes.

The queues have gone down drastically, luckily. I've made it to level 38 and now have to venture into the PvP zones to make decent exp.

Started to play just yesterday. I waited for registration mail and location security code whole saturday. Authentication database was apparently slowly failing from at least friday, but on sunday I was registered and downloaded the client. Europe servers are not loaded as much, but I started to play on new one (went online by end of september). Pings are excellent and connection too. I wasnt waiting in queue...

I was questing A LOT, and went to level 16 in just 10 hours. Server Nebe, Firran called Orio. Still doing the tutorial quest, and where the hell can I get one glider?

Like:
Quest system
Event system
Trial system
free to play + Buy stuff you want is something I was looking for. For now it does not seem to affect combat, or game experience.

Game combines the good things from all RPGs I played in the past, while the bad things I encountered does not really bother me...

Good, glad to hear that you like it!

The glider is given by quest, and you should be right around the level you get it. It is near the castle that is up on a hill, where you do the Armies of Castigant. It is to the left of there across a wooden bridge, and up on a hill to the right of that.

I am in other faction, but thanks I found it
smile.gif

I ran out of labor points, because I was mining too much
biggrin.gif
I had to wait about hour to craft stones for teleporting
biggrin.gif
Now I even cant open coinpurses = I have about 100 of them. I arrived to Mahadevi yesterday (3rd major location since game start) with first glider, there is crafting quest and each crafting requires 100 labor point....

So I guess i will be questing and questing and again questing
biggrin.gif

Edit: Just one question... The game still has some graphical glitches?

Ya, labor points are a drag. Basically forces you to get Patron if you want to play seriously. At least the game is nice and lets you buy patron with in game gold, which is really nice.

Yes, there are some minor graphical glitches, very minor though.

I have been playing a lot of AA. Got patron with gold and I make enough gold to upkeep patron status on both my account and my brothers account.
3 large farms and 2 farmhouses. And over 90 apple trees.

If one apple tree gives about 6 apples a day and one apple is worth about 12 silver... Do the math

My next step would be getting an Eznan Cutter or a Manor.

I have enough gilda stars to buy house designs, also I have 50 raw stones, 89 iron ore, 3 golden ore, 2 silver ore... That is where my labour points from the beginning and tutorial went.

Now I have about 150 unopened priest's coinpurses, since I wanted to finish the quest gear ASAP.

I am bit confused about few things... I read something that I can pay 1 gilda star to innkeeper, once per 12 hours to restore up to 100 labor points.

I dont have patron status... Innkeeper does nothing.

So the question is whether I even can purchase my own house, and if I will be able I dont know if bed in it will restore labour points. At this point, the sources give different information. Some are referring that you will receive only 1 labor point each 5 minutes (which is wrong), while other claim that you cant build a house if you are not a patron.

Archeage Patron benefits
No, you can't buy land without being a patron. Which means you can't build anything.
Basic labor regen is one per every minute online. 5 points for 5 minutes.

1. Get gold
2. Buy 2x APEX from auction house
3. Use the APEXes to get credit
4. Login to AA website.
5. Go to account settings
6. Buy Patron with the credits you got (2400 for one month of patron)
7. You got yourself patron status

I already have about 11 gold from coinpurses. Yesterday I checked some of the crafting (besides quests which involve crafting).

I already have crafted gear set, but I did a mistake and for magic oriented character crafted leather gloves, which decreased my damage by 5 percent. So I had to craft new cloth gloves.

First I finished new level, rearranged my skills on hotkeys and tested them on some stronger beasts - which took some time - about an hour...

Then I learned that for crafted cloth gloves I need cloth fabric (made from cotton), and some archaeum i already had... So I had toplant some cotton, I decided to do so outside farm (since I cannot use even the one from the quest, and its not possible to plant it on each public farm), and I was lucky to find nice abandoned spot, and it required about 2 hours to grow (so I had some time for quests, and labor points restocked again).

After three hours I had new cloth gloves, but i spent all blue archaeum i had (drop from coinpurses) and when i started to destroy my old gear with evenstones some of that archaeum returned... But to destroy 6 pieces of old equipment you need 60 labour points...

Basically yes, and no...

You need labor points for everything, even for opening coinpurse, but you are not forced to craft. You can obtain your gear from quests, or drops.

The game is all about gold. Labor is just alternative currency.

For me 1 labor point is worth 3,24 silver. You can buy Workers Compensation potion from AH which gives 1000 labor, and costs under 10 gold..

If you want to make money, forget crafting completely. Crafting is a money sinkhole, you can never make money with it (few exceptions).
Go mine raw stones from the popular mining spots and sell the stones to other players, that's how you make money.

Another way to make money is traderuns. Here is a table for all the traderun routes and the rewards they give.

I was doing quests for the first days, while primary goal was to have proper equipment. So I didnt hesitate to spent 700 labor points for 7 part quest set...

At the same moment I already had about 200 priest's coinpurses which equals to 400 labor points, and few silver coins in each of it. Also I earned about 15 gold coins in first three days by questing for overarchievements.

I dont believe that my current gear is worth about 8 gold (calculated from labor points and coinpurses i have), but I simply need it.

The question is if players will be willing to pay for gears I am planning to craft in the future...

Crafted gear, when re-regraded is the best gear in the game, but it is a money sink. There is gear on the Auction house right now for stupid amounts of money, and I think the prices are inflated quite a bit because the game is new. But I'm sure people will be willing to buy crafted gear.

I'm guessing you would vendor the apples.

Anyone know if mining at a higher level zone will give better materials? I've been mining at cindermore and getting mostly copper

Well... crafting requires:

a) Archeum
If you need just one piece of low level crafted equipment it would not be much trouble to gain it. But each higher and higher requires higher grade archeum. Once I realized its price I have decided rather to salvage old gear, rather than sell it.

b) Some gold / tools from general trade
The cheapest and fastest to obtain.

c) Materials
Since I plan to make tailoring (my character has magic skills) it will be cotton and fabric.

d) Labour points
700 for complete lowest grade gear, some for planting and harvesting the cotton, and some for making the cloth fabric...

And all this can be recalculated to hours of gameplay. Even the lowest grade gear will cost about 10 gold, but i believe its reasonable price.

Not sure. I was mining quite randomly and I have some copper, silver and gold, and a lot of iron. I stopped once I realized how much labor points consumes mining of fortuna vein...
