Ill try that integrity checker.

EDIT: can someone link me to something safe to download ? or a place to look for it?

https://github.com/Scarsz/GTA5-MD5-Checker this is old, so it doesn't recognize files with latest patches, but it just means you'll have to download more files. The idea is to delete the files that don't get recognized and have the launcher redownload them.

Ignore the update, there were updates after this program was released, so it doesn't recognize them, thinks they’re broken.

Oh okay.

So nothing was corrupted but i still crash in heist? What gives? :/

I dont crash any other mode (free mode is perfect can go hours of trolling people without crashing) -- but as soon as i enter a heist mode its possible for me to crash at any moment. Even like the last 10 seconds when you parachute out of the plane (prison break) down to the shore line... i even crashed there (wow so close in finishing) ....

So frustrating when the game crashes and youre at stock clocks and any other game doesnt seem to crash, just GTA V specifically in heist mode :/

Dayum! GTA 5 used 3.8 GB of VRAM at 1080p for me (290x), with 2x msaa, no advanced settings.

3.4GB here with no MSAA and advanced options as well. The graphics menu says 2401MB/4096MB but clearly it's wrong.
The graphic options for me say the game is using 2.3 gigs on my 2GB only 670 but it runs just fine at 1080p on basically very high settings and with long shadows turned on (60+ fps)... so all good.
How are you determining your VRAM usage of the game? You probably aren't using anywhere near that amount to physically run the game. It is probably making use of the amount of vram you have and caching extra for use later. I know I saw this first hand when going from my 2GB 670 to my 4GB 980. Same applications at the same settings and the 980 "used" more.

That doesn't mean your updates file wasn’t (or isn’t) corrupted, this program just wouldn’t know a healthy update file if it stared it directly in the eye, so it treats it as corrupted.
Heists are part of the Heist DLC resource package, so might want to check up on that.

Honestly, I couldn’t find fresh MD5 hashes of the files, but here are mine, which didn't crash in weeks:

I'm just going by what the game tells me, I turned on the ignore vram limit thing in the game. I drop in the 40s and 30s at times when there's a lot of explosions going on like 2 tanks going at it and destroying everything around them in the city in free roam. My card underclocks when that happens so I guess my oced i5 just isn't fast enough in those situations.
