970 will give some 30-35% FPS increase, but i would wait for a price drop, maybe couple of moths even, 7970 is perfectrly fine on a single FHD monitor

i use an hd tv at 60hz anything over 60fps gives me screen tearing. but im happy with 60fps or even 50 and i game at 1080p but i tend to downsample at 2560x1440 and in some games 3840x2160 but looking at upcoming games like evil within requiering 4gb of vram and an i7 makes me wonder if my sytem will be abel to run games such as these at these resolutions. if not will the 970 be a good upgrade for the job.
