Pretty cool.. 20-21c. It will be interesting to see what 30c temps next summer do.

Oh and I am also getting the new version of Firestorm (V1.0.44.001 as opposed to V1.0.44.000) today from Zotac support if anyone is interested, It allows for over 1.212 Vcore voltage. The bios across all Zotac 9 series cards are locked to a max of 1.212 for some reason and you can only override it using this new version of Firestorm.

I have had to jump through hoops for this card it has best be all I expected. biggrin.gif
Yes.. we would really love to have the new Firestorm. Cheers.

Funny thing is, I just want to lock the voltage at 1.212.. that's all I ask.

Guys, what exactly is limiting the gtx 970 amp extreme ? I mean we can set the tdp only to 106 % but it doesnt matter because it uses only 60-70 % of power, right?

I have the gtx 970 amp extreme and i can clock it up to 1440 without increasing the voltage( im using msi afterburner you cant go higher than 1,2 anyway) but i didnt go higher yet.

First i have tried to use firestotrm, but the settings didnt stick on boot, so i go with msi afterburner.

Maybe the new version fix this. @LizardTa can you please send me the new version of frestorm?

Is it possible to use msi aftrrburner for oc and firestorm for voltage increase?

Ps; the card gets only 56 degrees hot with oc. Thats really good, i think.

I was just fiddling around with Firestorm, and nothing will stick unless it's running in administrator priority. I've run both AB and Firestorm at the same time and they didn't seem to conflict, but I'd let someone with more expertise chime in on that one.

Sir, please let us know when you get your hands on that new version of Firestorm so we can all give it a whirl. Thanks

So the only way to go over the 1.212 limit is by using the new firestorm? Flashing another bios etc won't work?

So far there is no new bios out yet, i hope there will be one in future. But anyway you will be able to clock at least to 1400 mhz without increasing the voltage. Mine is at 1440 for now at stock voltage.

I have tested the new version. Ok, max GPU voltage is 1.26v (max during bench with multimetre is 1.29v)
But problem is the same : the power limit

Just to compare :
- 3DMark FS with stock frequency and stock voltage : P10343
- 3DMark FS with stock frequency and voltage @1.26v : P9559 (power limit...)

I'm way more concerned about uncorking that power limit than I am with voltage. However, more voltage is always welcome. For me, with the vanilla 970, the power limit is the only thing holding it back currently.

Both MSI afterburner and Firestorms monitoring software say that the GPU Vcore is maxing at 1.2v and will no rise no matter if I set it too 1.26. I have been running the program as administrator now as before I couldn't get anything to alter.

Where yours being shown as 1.26 on the graph in the software?
