:(    So I was doing a little gaming last night, and accidentally spilt a little Energy Drink.  Was essentially a splash from the cup after setting it down; not too much, but of course some droplets had to land on my QFR.  Pulled the few keys out around the spill and started drying it off, cleaning around the switches with Warm water and q-tip.  Of course my "A" key is now not clicking like a MX Blue should be :(  I can feel the actuation click, but its a smoother feeling.  After tapping the switch several times it seems to clear up and function kind of normal, however shortly later it gets all sticky again.

Any suggestions how to clean out this key switch?

first thing to try would be to get some rubbing alcohol and pour just a drop into the switch and spam it like crazy and hope it cleans out the sugar and corn syrup that is gunking up the key.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to take the keyboard apart, remove the switches, open them up, clean them, and then re-assemble everything back together.

Awesome, thanks for the reply!!

so I put a little alcohol and spammed the key, seems to have helped it.  I just gotta give it time to see if the sticky comes back.    In the event I need to open the switch, is there a way to do it without opening the keyboard?   Still under Warranty.

Unfortunately, you'll need de-soldering and soldering tools to remove the switch to properly clean it.

If its still under warranty, I doubt it would be covered since it was the user that damaged the product.

Just got my quickfire ultimate biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Being my first mech, its really amazing biggrin.gif I really love the feeling typing with browns, being my whole life with rubber domes oh man what a change lol.
I ordered the one with the browns switches and to be honest i was expecting to see white leds.
Turns out it has red leds biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif even better matches my case fans. Just a noob question here, i dont see how i can change the repeat rate.(8ms/4ms/2ms/1ms)

Just hold FN and the key? I dont see any difference while doing that. Enlight me pls biggrin.gif

Yes you will have to hold the FN key along with the corresponding keys on the Numpad for the repeat rate, as for perceiving the difference you can open up Microsoft Word or Notepad and go to town with the keys and test the difference as most people will not notice. :thumb:

Got hold of some HL logo keycaps(among others..)
I wanted to use them for the esc and OS keys, but they're bigger than I thought, and I don't like how they look on the OS keys so I used only one for now..
