1405 damn that's gross >.< i'm tempted to sell my sli 780ti's and get 2 of these but 4gb a ram not good enough for star citizen when it's released in a couple years not saying my 3gbs is that great either
but i'll wait till 20nm(which i believe there skipping) or 16nm with 8gb of ram than i'll dive in for the star citizen + occulus
Hmm I think I will wait it out a bit then and do more research on all the versions. I think I just want to keep it safe and simple and go with a single card for 2-3 years so I'm starting to overlook the 970 to have slightly more headroom.
Hopefully they will be out by Thanksgiving, that'd be an ideal time for me to buy.
this is a card with sub zero benching in mind coming first, not triple display gaming.
every time a new classified card comes out we get the same complaints before they even know what the card is for, talk about a major headache re reading this crap every time.

I just found my card! Done deal. Glad I didn't push the add to cart button on Newegg today on the reference model ! It is gonna sting letting my 680s go for like $150 each now that the 9's are unleashed.
I emailed EVGA yesterday to see if they had plans for a 980 classified hydro copper and there response was ''Unfortunately, we do not have any release dates at this time.'' So maybe they will? I dont know. But they do show this with a EK block, even though its not a classified. http://www.evga.com/articles/00872/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-980-970/#2989.
Honestly, the ftw acx looks just as nice, and it's most likely cheaper. Looks like the classified is just a higher clocked version , since they don't give any other specs.

the ftw version comes with a reference or almost reference pcb, small changes but still locked down to 1.24v, the classified has a beefed up 14 phase for the core vrm and 3 phase memory vrm with unlocked voltages via evbot allowing much higher and stable overclocks.

Hm, I think we have good odds here. Judging by those rates, we have an 80% chance he'll buy four and going down the line we can even get risky with the 50% chance that he'll buy seven.
