Hello.
I am sorry for asking this.I know there are many threads like this every day,
My sig computer died after 5 or so years.
My grapichs card died yesturday and i think it's time to change the whole system.
I am set to get Intel+Nvidia.
I have been out of the pc parts forums and stuff for a long time and i dont know wich parts are the best bang for the buck.
I have the money to get the Intel® CoreTM i5-4690K, 3.5GHz, Haswell, 6MB, Socket 1150.
Now the rest of the parts i cant decide.
I am planing to OC after a while so what are u guys sugesting i should get for the mobo+gpu and ram.
And is my power supply going to be enoughf to run this setup.
I will use the PC most for gaming @1920x1080.
I am very low on money so what is the best setup to get for this CPU.
Thank you.
This setup will benefit you well in 1080p gaming. But if you have the patience, wait for the GTX 970 because it's more power efficient than the R9 290.

I would at least add a computer case. Gaming rig is kinda clumsy without a case.
Or you intend to use Thermaltake Shark Black? Did you check the cooler and VGA card clearance before picking top tier coolers?
Also, it won't even start without RAM.
As for PSU ir is a good one, although I prefer Seasonic based units, and I own one: Antec HCG 620(M).
RED is an awful choice for the main drive. Go for BLUE or 7200 RPM Seagate,
altogether ~550-585. second hand parts will be even cheaper. most price/performance you will get in a game- period. I realize you're in romania, I don't now how the prices carry over to your country. if you have access/or can get access to a microcenter, you can get the cpu/mobo combo for ~160.
you cannot oc the i3 however, it will be plenty to max nearly every game you play at 1080p high settings
substitutions to save more money:
** used 7970 for ~160. best **
used 7950 ~130. better.
used gtx 680 ~135-160. good.
if you are dead set on i5: ***
used 2500k ~80-100
used 3570k ~135
used 4670k ~160-180
***you will end up spending more money on a better motherboard if you choose this route.
1 the budget allows i5, but I agree he doesn't need the fastesr one
2. the minimum requirement would be 4 dimm slots, IMO - for a RAM upgrade if necessary
3. gr8 card
4, there's no such PSU, nor it can be found an that price.
5. 8 gigs is a reasonable minimum, also no way to find it for 10 euros
6. i;d go for plextor. it won't give ANY performance in game, unless you play ONE game, don't download anyrhing and don't need HDD at all. otherwise, one should get an SSD and money spent on SSD is a waste for gaming (but a blessing for overall system responsiveness)
8. stock HSF is never free, OEM processor is always cheaper.
The reviewers only have a few days maybe even a few weeks to honestly review an item. I have used a couple MSI boards in the past. 3 of them to be exact.
1 was a socket z68 another was a z77 and the last was another z77.
All 3 died within a year. The first z77 died within 5 months.
These are all cheap boards that I used to put basic computers together to simply run extra monitors to view stock charts.
There was no fancy ram, they all had corsair power supplies, none of them were being pushed, and a lot of them were on the same circuit as my main PC.
My main PC has been put through hell, and all of my asus motherboards have been fine. MSI though have all blown up. (figuratively)
The bottom line is you get what you pay for. If you buy a MSI M power, then chances are you will have a fairly solid board. If you are like me and are too stupid to spend the extra couple bucks on an asrock board, then you get lots of nice paper weights.

3. gr8 card 4, there's no such PSU, nor it can be found an that price. *cx430 it's always on sale for this price ~every other month 5. 8 gigs is a reasonable minimum, also no way to find it for 10 euros i find it for <$6/4gb, gotta look around 6. i;d go for plextor. it won't give ANY performance in game, unless you play ONE game, don't download anyrhing and don't need HDD at all. otherwise, one should get an SSD and money spent on SSD is a waste for gaming (but a blessing for overall system responsiveness) he's gaming, so it doesn't matter 8. stock HSF is never free, OEM processor is always cheaper. if you can find oem, yes
I am planing to use the old case.
I didnt plan to change the psu but if i must i will. What do you think,Should i change it?
I changed the setup a little.
@ hollowtek
4. care to give a link? i believe you meant CX, but I'm always open to meet new PSU models
5. at that price you can get 2 gigs at best, you wrote 4
6. if it doesn't why include it in the config that gives "most price/performance you will get in a game". it's just ain't true. i5 instead of i3 will give more in games than an SSD. I don't need and SSD for loading BF4 level, actually I'm fine with WD GREEN, it just gives me extra 20-30 seconds to read the forum or do smth else.

1. You musn't change the PSU, Antec True Power Trio 650 Watt wiil be more than enough. and it won't be noisy as hell like box cooler or a 430W psu
2. no need to get OCed RAM unless you like to benchmark
3. the videocard is out of stock

any seasonic/corsair/rosewill gold/platinum 430-550w will be more than enough for your setup. trust me, they're not noisy (if it is, RMA it, because the platinum units turn off the fan when its not needed). but if you're trying to save money, there's a lot of good options.
@ hollowtek
1. so it IS CX, not GX.
2. 30 bucks for 4gb DDR3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=4gb%20ddr3&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20i'll never pay 30 for 4gb lol. maybe 8. I consider 80 for 16gb a good deal ($5/gb)
or maybe you have another magic link? it works for Europe? unfortunately I don't know the euro prices... hell it might be cheaper to order from US and get it shipped there.
3. i don't need to "look up anything" about CPUs: SSDs are not even IN the benchmarks, because they do not matter i meant i3 vs i5 when i comes to gaming. nothing to do with ssd's
it's a strange manner of quoting, that you have ))) still getting used to it lol.
hollowtek
I agree that i3 VS i5 rarely differ on 1080p. although in crysis 3 and BF4 multi the difference will be noticeable.
Otherwise, I won't see the difference from OCing i5 from 3.4 to 4.6. But I do. Especially it helps with minimum framerates.
This is the final build.
