Subbed. Your desk is beautiful! thumb.gif

I'm kinda working on a desk myself. All aluminium though. And since I don't have a workshop and barely any tools, it takes a lot longer than it probably should. But it'll be ready when it's done. smile.gif

Oooh! Now that's interesting! I was thinking of using aluminum too, but since I really don't have much tools, I ended up using wood. I only have a rotary tool, Jigsaw, a set of hand files, mice sander and hand drill. Do you have a build log for it? And thanks for the Sub. I really was not expecting anyone to sub on this. thumb.gif

No build log yet but check my profile for a few pics (Project SC). Had to go with aluminium because I get it for almost for free from work. I borrow some tools from there as well but can only do so during the weekends.

Yep, if that is what you are thinking, then you are correct! That photo is the photo of my current rig right now. The left side of the photo, the system is off, and the right side of the photo, the system is turned on. thumb.gif

I modded the side panel window of my Corsair Obsidian 350D and applied Privacy window film on it.
Whaddaya think?

drool.gif that's exactly what I meant! This will look so gorgeous in your desk! thumb.gif

Yep. that was my plan since if you read through my build, my design looks familiar with the Vector Desk, so I decided to add some twist here and there to avoid being called "CopyCat". Linear Actuators plus a two way mirror effect for the top cover. Although the progress of the project might take longer than expected since the weather here started to get colder, and I could only do spray paint outside in our backyard. I could still paint, but the drying process of the paint might take a bit longer. All that is left to do now is to finish the supports for the legs of the desk, paint it, and assemble the systems on the desk. Can someone bring back the summer for at least a month? Please? biggrin.gif

You lucky!! I mean, the main material that you wanted to use was already, almost, free and you can get access to a few key tools for the job. Yeah, I saw a photo of your desk yesterday, and boy oh boy, that is going to be one hell of a project there! Are you planning on using rivets for the desk assembly? Or mostly screws? Weld? Man I cant wait to see your work log! Could you shoot me a mail or something when you get you log up? Please?smile.gif

Thanks. You know, I have absolutely no idea on what I'm doing, but I still enjoy building the desk.
I'll be using rivets mostly. I'd like to weld but the desk is getting rather heavy already. And the girlfriend said that welding in the livingroom is a big no-no. Something about fire hazard, smell and whatnot.. rolleyes.giftongue.gif
I will let you know when the build log is up. Should be live when my vacation starts by the end of this month. smile.gif

LOL! Welding in the living room. well, that's going to be, uuhm, an adventure for sure. tongue.gif

I will be waiting for the build log of your desk! To be honest, I'd rather use aluminum than wood. The desk right now is kinda heavy, around 15-20lbs. Plus the weight of the actuators. But since I really don't have access to aluminum, wood will do for now..
