[Legit Reviews] "Gamers" Start Petition To Keep Old Corsair Logo - Page 68

I would also agree that not many people who signed are also going to avoid buying the keyboard. As for myself, I decided to see what Corsair does, as well as wait for the competition to bring out their responses before I make a move. I don't agree with the logo change, and as a result, will voice that by not buying a keyboard. How insignificant that is in Corsair's eyes simply doesn't matter to me. At least I stuck to my beliefs the whole time.

That's good. You should always stand by your beliefs and if you do end up doing so, I would respect you immensely for that (not that my respect probably count for beans in your book or anyone's really). I've said it before and I will say it again; I hope you guys do all stick to your guns and vote with your wallets and that there ends up enough of you guys to be effective in forcing change. I may not agree with your emotional attachment to a logo or your reaction to it, but I definitely support your right to express that dissatisfaction 100%. If you guys create a petition for a badge program, I would even sign my support for it as the new logo is pretty ugly. I am also a realist however and reality is contrary to what a few ardent supporters of the petition seem to believe.

Having said that, I'm fairly confident I can remove the gaming logo without scratching the top of the keyboard. I have that same set of tiny screwdrivers that Linus used in his video to remove the logo smile.gif

Easiest way is to use hair dryer. If you heat it up long enough, the sticker should come right off with minimal adhesive residue. Any remaining "gunk" can be removed by the following:

- Any sort of adhesive remover
- VERY LIGHT application of rubbing alcohol/nail polish
- Light sanding with high grit wet sandpaper

Hope that helps! thumb.gif

Goo Gone and Zep Twister work well for removing any and all adhesive residue ( we used to use Twister at the shop all the time ).

The sticker program request came later when it became evident that the "demand" in the petition will never happen. Sticker program is more like plan B or C. On Corsair's side, they might consider the sticker program, but only their higher ups would now. My speculation is that they are waiting to see if any decline of sales would warrant such a reaction. Like I said, most won't even boycott buying the keyboard because to most people, it simply isn't a big deal. Like I've said though, if all the people saying they will boycott it for the logo alone and all Corsair products, I would be mightily impressed.

Did you not see people insulting him, calling him a liar and such? Like any big community, ours has a bunch of childish morons who only believe in principals when it serves to benefit them and applies to others. In general, people only appreciate reps when reps are being helpful.

Oh come on, I would guess most people, like me, signed the petition as a communication tool to let Corsair know in relatively large collective numbers, of our dissatisfaction with the new logo. And we felt disappointed because we were shown previews all year long of the keyboard and we're expecting what had been teased to us, but then they released it looking different. But not only different, ugly to a lot of us, and we were disappointed for many other reasons that have been communicated here and other forums that I won't rehash here for brevity. I never believed they would scrub their whole gaming line or change their logo of the gaming line in response, but hoped they would also offer the products with the old logo as well for those who would prefer it. The replacement badge concept was offered up as a compromise that would satisfy the fundamental intention of the petition with minimal impact to Corsair, as they wouldn't even need to establish new skus, etc., so I wouldn't agree a different petition is needed. I would say plan B is to mod ourselves, and plan C, the last resort, is to boycott the gaming line, but not the company altogether, IMHO, that is too extreme a response in this case. I don't necessarily agree that we are so insignificant in numbers either, and believe Corsair would not wish to lose even one sale, after all, they had their reps here most of the week to listen to us and went so far as to sticky an official response on their forum, regardless how weak a response many of us think it was. But they have made a calculated decision based on a business model they want to explore, which in itself is fine, but I think some bad decisions were made in how they went about it, IMHO.

Here is the official statement from Corsair that i received at 7:33 pm from CorsairGeorge:

"Hello all,
Last week we pointed out the availability of a Vengeance K70 and Vengeance K70 RGB keyboards with red switches for fans of our Corsair “sails” logo. We have since rolled up our sleeves to see just how many additional “sails” logo versions we can add to our line. The answer is 11 configurations which were based on requests we’ve received. We also added a matching M65 RGB mouse.

• Vengeance K70 RGB - Cherry MX red – US, UK, Nordic (US now, UK/Nordic available late November)
• Vengeance K70 RGB - Cherry MX brown – US, UK (available late November)
• Vengeance K95 RGB - Cherry MX red – US, UK (available late November)
• Vengeance K70 - Cherry MX red – US, UK (available mid October)
• Vengeance K70 - Cherry MX brown – US, UK (available mid October)
• M65 RGB – black (late November)

Both Corsair Gaming and Vengeance branded products are made to the same level of precision and are awesome. We promise.

All we need now is the K70 in blues (both versions). Good on ya, Corsair, for pushing the right choice!

Edit: This statement is more of a personal wish than another request for Corsair. What they've done so far, in my eyes, it's very respectable, and I truly appreciate the steps they've taken that were regarded by many as a mistake.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a smug hardware rep state something to the effect of this is how it is and it's not going to be changed?
