Certain games just don't require the level of fluidity. There are a huge number of games that work just fine - and look great without 60 frames per second. Uncharted series is captivating and you'd be pressed to even realise it's running at 30 FPS.

So it depends on the genre. Just makes me laugh how people get so hung up on the FPS argument, yet are obviously too short sighted anyway.

I don't agree with Ubisoft press release, so I'll pretend that wasn't sarcastic. We all get it, 60 FPS looks great, but making out it burns your eyes and refusing to play a game at it is a massive generalisation. You've missed out on a lot if that's what you really think wink.gif
I am no game dev but i think the net is more up in arms about game engines that are developed with a fixed low fps rather than open. And its all to appease console issues. Personally think game engine shldnt have such limits as they are normally reused/retweaked/sold etc so the underlieing issue will crop up on other games. Good example is idtech engines. SOM is terrible at 30 for me cause reaction time all screwed up. I tried it. But fidelity is still there.

So since ubi tendes to reuse their engine etc. i am guessing if concerns are not voiced now. 30fps will become a industry standard pushing gaming evolution back. We already can see for the first time gpu are exceeding game engines.

you know what I put the ultra textures back from high with my 780 3gb and its using all my 3gb but is now running smooth at 1080p 120 hz
post #1383 of 1447
Yeah I was scared performance was going to be bad but with everything on max with textures on high, I'm getting 60 fps pretty stable at 1440p. Vram stays pretty consistently at 3.9gb though so I suspect ultra textures would tip it over. But that's okay, fun game and it looks great regardless smile.gif

This and evil within are just sys spec hyperboles. Sure they are demanding but not that demanding. I think it hurts the game's rep/financial position to some degree. I would almost skimp on this game for example. Thinking that my 750 ti will have to play it at low to get 60 fps... But here i am, slaying orcs at high settings with 60 fps.

hmm sli profile out

mouse is freaking slow at any fps 80 and above

and when fighting it same as single card fps.

I didn't see the profile for this game mentioned in the driver release notes.

out bro. it has it. but i think they didnt mention it as its not really working well.

using 0x080000F5 (Catzilla, Dragon Age 2, Ocean Demo, Middle-Earth:Shadow of Mordor....)

hmm initial test looks like gonna still use single card.

redownloading ryse atm from steam.
gonna try it.

works well with ryse. getting double frames. 80fps at the kings chapter.

Bah, I finally got a 780 6GB version and after reinstalling drivers and firing up the game, I can't remember how to get the in between res scaling resolutions to show up. I have native (1440p). and the next step is 2160p at 150%. Do I have to remove the custom resolutions I have in the nvidia control panel? Or is it something else?

Bought this game at G2A for 25 bucks. Runs pretty smooth with just one Titan, and does use 5gb+ vram on ultra.

What res? I can play it at 2560x1440 and get no stutter at all with 4GB. At 1080p I average around 75fps. The 5GB is allocated. It doesn't actually use that much.
