Apple has come out swinging against reports that its iPhone 6 Plus bends too easily. The company on Thursday told CNBC that only nine customers so far have complained about the device being too flimsy and it defended its hardware engineering from criticisms that have come in this week. In addition to revealed that only nine customers have complained, the company also said that its "new iPhones feature steel/titanium inserts to reinforce stress locations and use the strongest glass in the industry."
...except the reports are people having in their FRONT pocket and stated they did not fall.Originally Posted by Syan48306
Apple lighweighted and thinned the phone out as much as possible. It's one of the thinnest phones on the market. What do you expect it to do when people use all their might to intentionally bend this thing? What do you expect when people put these phones caseless in their back pockets and then fall on their ass? The iphone 6 is plenty sturdy and the 6 plus is enough for daily use. if you slap a case on it, any case, it'll be more than sturdy enough for any normal use.
It's funnier that more people don't understand how Apple does issue management....
have you ever actually dealt with apple? they have some of the best customer service in the industry. actually i would say the best bar none.
i'm not saying they are perfect. the whole retina macbook pro display thing was also a disaster. but at the same time it's hard to gauge how many people are actually impacted by something.
Same as he did with the Note 3 and nothing happened.
On top of that, I haven't seen any IP6+ users on OCN complain.Originally Posted by droses1
Got to love how I've seen dozens or more of these iPhone bending articles based on anecdotal evidence. Journalism really is dead when I can read everywhere about how one guy "said" his iPhone bent in the front pocket of his not so skinny jeans and he didn't even do a single squat.
I can bend any phone, (maybe not a Nokia brick) like my Galaxy S5 if I try hard enough like all the viral YouTube copycats. People really love their sensationalist "news" articles.
In the real world, is this was such a serious issue, there would be outrage. The iPhone 6 sold 10 million phones in its opening weekend alone. I haven't seen a single Facebook status of "My iPhone bent and I never even turned it on!"
Yes. I have. When I was working for Best Buy. And I was trying to assist a customer with their iPhone 3GS when those were new. And Apple threatened TO SUE ME PERSONALLY FOR SLANDER for making claims about their device. Before that, I just didn't care about Apple, they were a company that made stuff I just didn't care about. After that PERSONAL ATTACK, I'm plenty happy to preach from the list of garbage they throw out. I only wish I had forwarded that email from my work inbox to home and kept it so I could show people how Apple treats the people that work directly with their customers outside of the minuscule number of Apple stores.
What slander? How did they get your name?Originally Posted by Sabis

THIS. Thank you. There is no way that amount of force could be applied to a phone resting in a pocket, even in the tightest skinny jeans. Man people are so desperate to find any reason to criticize Apple. If you wanna criticize the iPhone, talk about something that actually related to normal usage, like the lack of RAM. That's a legitimate concern, this bending stuff is not.
The phone in question had accidentally been infected by one of the old Windows fake antivirus malwares that were running rampant at the time. Being a non-Windows OS, the virus wasn't able to really adapt, so all it did was lockup his screen with an image that looked like a Windows XP "My Computer" window. We couldn't access or wipe the device and we couldn't get around the thing to try and do anything, and being under warranty we couldn't open it to try to remove the battery and reset it that way. They told me on the phone it wasn't possible, so I took photos with a digital camera off the shelf and emailed them to the rep. The form letter threatening "legal action" was the response I got.

With a markups peaking 300%, I would only hope so. Even still, I've experienced mostly nothing but the opposite. Defective logicboard on boss's Macbook $800 repair, it's not covered. Oh the video card on that $2,500 Mac Pro of ours was under a shorter warranty term; $650 for that replacement stock HD7950. Missing a few keyboard keys on your Macbook? Sorry, that's like $400. Here, buy the new Macbook instead. For it to happen again in 2 years.Originally Posted by Juub

Apple is consistently rated among the best in terms of customer service. Hell one of the main selling points of their hardware is customer service.
You're obviously biased and you're pretty much admitting you're on a mission to slander Apple. Why would we we take your opinipn seriously?
