Which is at fault? USB 3.0 Hub or Sandisk USB 3.0 Extreme? Or Both?

So I just bought this USB Hub

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GQRGS9I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and this Thumb Drive

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KT7DXIU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I was really excited to plug it up and to finally expand my USB ports and not have to pull out the computer to put in a thumb drive for school.

I plugged in my first 5 devices

3 USB 2.0 thumb drives

WACOM wireless receiver

and a portable 2,5 inch HDD

I finally plugged in my brand new 32GB SanDisk Extreme and windows 8.1 gave me a "USB device not recognized" message. So I automatically went to troubleshooting. I pulled out my tower and plugged it into the back of the computer. The thumb drive worked. When I plugged it back into the hub It worked for a whole 10 minutes. I wasn't able to get the hub to reconnect with the device. (as i was writing this it connected, as soon as my computer was restarted it was once again recognized). I think it is the hub because the randomly disconnects all devices sporadically. However I also can not get the Sandisk drive to be read by my back 2.0 ports....

Help I am confused at who is at fault or even if it is both.

Based on the single review for your USB hub it looks like it's the hub that's at fault. I too needed extra USB ports as the monitor I'm replacing dose not have any USB ports. I do not need as many as you but these guys have a 7-10 port. I ordered the 4 port. HTH

So it has been almost a year since getting this USB 3.0 hub and 3.0 thumb drive. Well recently I upgraded to windows 10 and it really broke the hub. There is something about the on-board USB 3.0 port that does not like the Hootoo Hub I own, Because once the two are connected to each other Windows does not recognize any device i plug into the hub. Right now I have the Hub plugged into a 2.0 port and it is working flawlessly. Sigh.

Once again any ideas?
