Have you guys tried turning off the memory/MCR fast boot options and making sure the memory tests are enabled?

I just scored a ASRock X99 WS-E (not the 10G) from NewEgg for ~$380 (coupon + $40 MIR). I'm interested in getting waterblocks made from liquidextasy, and I have an email out on price. I'd want a full-board block, much like the one. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM. redface.gif

It's my understanding that the 10 gigabit ethernet controller is under the blue heatsink by the IOs, so that wouldn't be water cooled--though it doesn't generate that much heat compared to the chipsets/power delivery components/processor and certainly isn't worth it to me.

Hi everyone,

I just built a system with a ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer motherboard and absolutely love the performance and quality of this board. After 2 weeks of ownership i'm looking into overclocking and wanted to know if this guide was valid for overclocking this motherboard with a 5820k? Anything different in the bios that I should know about? Should I gradually overclock my processor or just jump to 4.0-4.2 as this guide suggest? Any help offered would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello everyone.

New ASRock X99 Extreme 11 owner here, and I'm experiencing some inconsistent boot ups.

My Build:
ASRock X99 Extreme 11
Core i7-5930K
16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4 2666 CORSAIR Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M4A2666C16
M.2 SSD AHCI (Samsung XP941) MZHPU256HCGL
2x SATA SSDs
2x ASUS Radeon R9 290
1200W Gold PSU

I installed Win 8.1 on the M.2 SSD, the other two drives are not bootable.

Occasionally, when I am rebooting, or cold booting, I will not make it past the boot up screen (Never hits the windows boot loader).
I power off the machine, and start it up, sometimes it takes a couple tries, but the boot loader runs, and I can use windows.

While I'm booted up, the system is quite stable, and I can play games for hours, and work on it all day. I work from home all day, with relatively heavy development use (visual studio/sql/virtual machines/etc).

So I'm happy with the stability and performance... if I can get it to boot. smile.gif

Anyone else experiencing the same problems? Any solutions/known incompatibilities with this setup?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Same issue here, changed all bios available nothing of different. I asked even to asrock but they haven't any idea.
At the first I thought was my issue, maybe my ES or my memory with a bad profile..but I tested my CPU on other motherboard and with mem I passed memtest 5 times.

Maybe it is a bad setting in BIOS but I'm almost all default

what type of memory are you using? I had the same issue on X99X Killer with 4x4GB G.Skill 3000. resolved by buying a MSI+

honestly this happens on a lot of boards past top multipliers, its an X99 problem with high memory dividers.

Can anyone tell me if the adaptive cpu vcore setting on the ASRock X99 Exteme4 is capped at the max specified vcore or will it exceed the max? I will begin overclocking my 5280k tonight and I first want to find a stable vcore using override and then switch to adaptive to save on power. I do a lot of video encoding using x264 which uses the AVX2 instruction set and I would hate for the voltages to spike to unsafe levels during an encode. Thanks.
