Anyone notice any difference whatsoever changing Package C State Support between the three options? Doesn't seem to do anything.

I did not have to change anything. The Asrock mobo picked the best timings itself, below the normal memory settings. I tried to get lower timings but that did not work out, so I am quit pleased with how to mobo automatically picked the best timings. I am using this kit: Crucial Ballistix Sport 32GB DDR4-2400 CL16 quad kit. They only OC to 2750MHz on CL12. Best part is that their 32GB kit is roughly the same price at 16GB for the other kits. And it is always better to have more memory then faster memory. Here you can see a comparison of 8 different kits for Haswell-E: http://nl.hardware.info/reviews/5983/9/8-quad-channel-ddr4-geheugenkits-review-geheugen-voor-haswell-e-conclusie (it is written in Dutch, but if you look at the graphs it makes sense).

What does the C State do in general?

Super weird thing happened this morning....

I powered the PC on (after shutting it down w/o any issues yesterday night) and the bios code stuck on "66" with the boot logo in front of me. Nothing else happened. Read manual, tells me to CMOS clear - ok done that - booted, still hangs on "66" with the boot logo in front of me.

Any ideas? I'm starting to think i have a damaged board...really bad first experience with ASRock :/

Try removing all ram, insert 1 stick at a time and try again.

On a side note, anyone know what's troubling my pc?

Problem:
When go to shutdown computer (Start > Shutdown), the computer will shut off for 3-5 seconds and then turn itself on again.

Diagnosis:
Memory overclocked to 3200MHz (32x100 strap) 1.35v ram, 0.96v vccsa
16-18-18-38 1t

Tested memory overclock with aida64 memory + cache over night - Stable
Tested memory overclock with HCI Memtest over night - 2500% pass no errors - Stable

Further diagnosis:

Backed down the memory divider to 28x100 strap and kept all settings same = Computer shuts down fine and does not restart.

Is there a reason why using the 3200MHz overclock will cause the computer to restart on it's own when I go to shutdown?

Full system specs:
5820k overclocked to 4.3ghz 1.2v adaptive, 1.85vin, llc 3
asrock x99m killer 3.1
corsair lpx 16gb 4x4 modules stock 3000 c15
corsair ax650
msi gtx 980

My system does that. When I click shutdown all it does is restart. I thought it was a Win 8.1 thing since it's my first time using 8.1. Forcing me to hold the power button to do a complete shutdown. Think that could be MB related?

I think so, mine only does that when I'm overclocking my memory past 2800MHz frown.gif
But as far as I can tell, the OC should be stable confused.gif

I'm not that impressed with my Asrock. Good feature set, decent bios, but the bclck floats 2-3mhz and with a 45x multiplier that's some pretty big jumps.

Finally back working on my X99 extreme6/3.1 with 5930K. Just before I went away on a family reunion I was getting hardware failure after 2 minutes on Aida64.

When I came back I had to validate Win 7 which did not work - turns out I had used the same Windows disk as my current aging main machine. So I had to totally reinstall Win and start over with all drivers and updates to Win (different version of Windows) - and install again about 1 GB of updates.

Still have CPU at 4GHz and RAM at 3000.

I was getting a hardware failure after about 6 seconds now - I knew it had to be a driver, and it was Inte Management Engine Driver - once I got that fixed I can get CPU Stress and FPU stress successful for 24+ hours. Still a problem with Cache Stress - it only goes for a couple of hours and dies.

Any ideas?

Just noticed that overclockers.com's review also makes note of the X99 OC formual's bizarre single threaded performance anomaly with 1.60 and later firmware: http://www.overclockers.com/asrock-x99-oc-formula-motherboard-review/

Still no update from ASRock either, more than six months after the fact.
