AsRock X99 Motherboard Owners Club - Page 49

Nice, thanks I didn't know the 3.1 ones had an OC socket.

Have another question, is there any major difference between the AsRock Extreme6 3.1 and the Fatal1ty X99X Killer 3.1?

Wasn't really sure which one to get first, maybe there is something I missed...like the OC Socket tongue.gif

Not much really. Different Ethernet is really about it. I went with the Killer because my case and everything is red. Don't quote me on this though, there could be differences I'm unaware of that aren't evident on that comparison, they are very similar though.

Also a common error when you are overclocking and the CPU doesn't have enough voltage but it doesn't look like you are overclocking yet.

If the CPU didn't have enough voltage would that make the computer load everything very slow? Because right when I start it up it's fast, but then 5 minutes later the computer starts to slow down a lot then it will give me that error. Again I'm very new with this stuff, so sorry if these are dumb questions haha

Are you overclocking it yet or not?

No, I'm not. I'm just trying to get it to run like it should first haha. Everything in the bios is set on auto. So I'm not sure if I need to increase or decrease anything for the CPU

Have you tried re-seating the ram, making sure they are in the proper slots, and trying with just 1 ram stick?

Can also be a driver issue, make sure you have properly installed everything. Go into the device manager and check update driver on your major devices, GPU especially.

Any specific program that you start using that triggers the error?

I haven't tried that yet. I definitely will though. At the end of this build, when we turned the power on we were having trouble with there not being any display showing up, so we were looking on forums and what not and found a guy saying to put the Ram in certain spots on this mother board so we tried that and it worked. That's why I didn't think the Ram was a problem, but it could be considering I don't know much

I've just been trying to install all the normal stuff I want to use to play games. Like steam and a launcher called feed the beast. Even when I was trying to install Java it did that

Sadly, I'm posting to complain. I bought the X99X Killer in Oct 2014 and 4 months ago it died. RMA support is so bad, I still have the bad board. mad.gif
