Did I do something wrong.

Okay guys, so I think I may be having some issues. I recently upgraded from stock air cooling an old fx 4300 cpu to trying my hand at water cooling an amd 9590. Idle temps are around 36C If I have all the fans at max. I feel like that may be a bit high, when I run prime 95 it goes 36C to 60C in about 1 minute. Did I do something wrong. Below is the list of water cooling components I used.

So here's my list of cooling stuff.

Dude that if more than a fine temperature under idle and under load. Download real temp it should support your cpu.

You can run your fans lower if you wanted. My 8150 went to around 80c on air cooling when it was overclocked so I think that the 9590 will be fine on water with 60c. Remember a true test is atleast an hour on prime to ensure that the cooler will keep with long term usage.

good luck

As mentioned above run prime 95 for a solid hour and report the temps. 60 isn't that bad on those 8 cores, especially one clocked at 5ghz thumb.gif

I get over 70C with my i5-3570K and Phobya nova 1080 at 4.2 GHz.

yup what they all said.

plus your ambient temp is going to play a factor at your idle temps too.

My 8350 @ 5ghz ran real hot especially during prime95's larger lucas lehmer iterations

If anything make sure your motherboards VRMs aren't getting too hot. Throttle city.
