Still waiting for the MAC daddy update here to win 10 .
Well the latest upgrade uninstalled CPU-Z and HW Monitor telling me they were not compatible, the latest versions from the web site seem to work. And I have to mouse click on the initial screen to get to the sign on screen now, versus just hitting any key on the keyboard. And if you use something like Spybot Anti-beacon to limit some of the spying, be sure to run it again since this update resets about half of stuff that program addresses.

After the 1511 update I now have a 10gb Windows.old folder taking up space on my SSD. Is it safe to delete? If so, is there any way to? It won't let me.

Yes it's using 16.1G on my SSD and I have $WINDOWS~BT using another 3.6G, that almost 20G in stuff I probably don't need.

Well it took a while and I don' t know if I could do it again but i finally got windows 10 activated on my hockey puck Wintel device. Now I just need to do a fresh install (d'oh!) to re-claim some of the sizable 32 gigs of eMMC storage.

I installed an old 10240 RTM ISO then updated all the way to 10586. Which I didn't think getting updates was possible from a non-activated Windows 10 but it worked this time for whatever reason. Then put in my Windows 7 [retail] key and it actually activated. Still not sure what the deal is with that. But I'm not complaining.

This may be already known but in on the activation screen it says "Windows is activated" and then under product key it says "windows 10 on this device is activated with a digital entitlement."

So I tried to see what that actually means. I think it means once activated once with the 7 key the key will not need to be entered ever again. I mean if I had to guess. Still can't believe it actually worked.

It is good to hear you got that installed.

Yes digital entitlement should never require a key again. When it checks the MS servers it will see your system is valid and that will be it.

Personally I think this is great because lots of users either get the sticker damaged or worn off.

Run Disk Cleanup. Select system's files, too.

I'd suggest HWiNFO64 and W10Privacy. Better do as much as you can manually, though.
