Is Windows 10 slower at booting up for anyone else compared to 7 and 8.1?

15 - 20 seconds to boot up on 7/8.1. 25 - 30 seconds to boot up on 10.

Hibernation disabled or enabled makes no difference on any version Windows either in my case.

The more HDD populated with data, or the more progs installed, the longer that black screen part of boot up?

In my system, Reboot time (desktop to desktop) is approx. 26 seconds. Win 10 Pro, build 10586.104 as primary OS.

Well another odd thing is.... If I use Windows 7 I get the Vista loading bar (yes. the Vista loading bar, not the Windows 7 Logo, lol) and if I use 8.1 I actually see the spinning dots below the Windows Logo - Takes about 1.25 rotations of the bar and/or dots and usually I see no Welcome Screen on either OS.

If I use Windows 10 I have no dots under the Windows logo so I actually have no idea how long the rotation would be but I know it's longer, hence the longer boot times, plus I actually get a second or so of the Welcome Screen.

I have about equal programs/games etc installed on any version of Windows so that's not it. Perhaps a driver issue in Windows 10. That's all I can think of.

I just ran WinBootInfo and it said my total boot time was 26 seconds but boot to Explorer was 10 seconds... *Shrugs*. Pretty sure those numbers match 7/8.1.

I reckon I just thought the boot time was longer because the actual logo part is up longer on 10 over 7/8.1.

If I may, I think you should check these durations via your Event Viewer / Application and Service Logs / Microsoft / Windows / Diagnostics and Performance / Operational.

My Boot duration: 14988 ms
My Shutdown duration: 1601 ms

It usually stays around these numbers. Two applications I run at Windows startup: CCleaner Pro and HWiNFO64.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
