You got it! They've been about for a while. Before EVGA brought the e-power out, people were making their own by cutting up beefier cards :)

It's not about looking pretty, its about maximum contact for as much juice as possible :guitar:

Or are they just like the antique car in the garage, where they are only taken out for those occasions when you have a weekend off.

I like the car analogy and you're spot on. For benching only.

Nobody is gaming with a zombied up GPU.  Nvidia haven't gotten that crazy with greenlight yet.

Seems way overkill, and pointless to add 1/4" wide grounds to ground pads that lead to tracks on a PCB that maybe are 100 mils wide. Maybe I'm totally wrong here, but when dealing with electricity on PCBs, I've always found that when huge power draws happen and it fails, all that is going to happen is that the PCB tracks will be the weak point and "lift". So I just don't get the point of adding huge ground lines outside the PCB that are 25 or 50 times as large as the ground on the PCB, because ultimately its the PCBs ground 100 mil tracks that still have to sink that current and not fail.

Can you run firestrike or anything doing OC's like this or what that cause the bench to explode?
