[EK] MSI GTX 970 Gaming Block For Sale NOW! - Page 5

Why block these? Is the overclock limited thermally on the 970? I'm pretty sure it's not, so why do it?

Lower noise and to keep VRM temps down when incresing the voltage, they can get incredibly hot.

Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting EK Support.

Currently waterblocks for 970 are in testing phase and shall be ready for sales in 3 weeks.
I have already put pressure on production manager as there is quite some demand for these waterblocks by now and hopefully customers won't resent the postponing.

If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Lep pozdrav, Kind regards, MFG!

Even if labelized as "cool" card they can go high, those 2 slow rpm fans can't brass any air resulting in an higher temp in the case, msi bug fan : sometimes they go at 100% and won't idling again.

Thanks for posting that update. Looks like first of november will be our date. I'm fine with that. I can't get the MSI Gaming to break 75C with an OC, even in SLI.

I guess people want to cut down on noise when running 2-3 of these at max OC's?

I can keep mine at 70c or so using only ~800rpm fan speed (@1500mhz 1.2v)

The VRM temps are definitely a concern but i don't think they impact much at 1.2v with good case airflow - again, maybe @1.25, or with multiple cards

because of those two, i don't see much logic in waterblocking a 970 unless you already have a functional loop, and still maybe then it'd be a bit weird without two gpu's

I'm interested because my top SLI card runs about 10C hotter than the bottom.

My new X99 system is waiting for its video card. Absolutely awesome that there's a company left, that will sell blocks for the 970! I'll probably chosse the Gigabyte G1 because I don't like small PCBs that much tongue.gif
