Extract and Flash GTX 970 and 980 Firmware - Zoson's H2O and AIR Custom BIOS - Page 241

I don't know why I've never mentioned this before. Enabling Shadowplay forces your gpu into P0 max boost state. I haven't tested to see if running shadowplay would affect 3dmark scores, but yeah, if you really want to pin your GPU at max state, that's an easy way to do it.

Hello Zoson the Gigabyte GTX 980 G1 Gaming, what board revision is it, Rev 1.0 or 1.1 ? I don't know what is really the difference between them, but customer support of gigabyte said, "we changed power delivery"

It does not matter: extract the BIOS from YOUR card and then edit to the same values as his. Do no use his BIOS directly.

Hey guys!

A got a small problem here ...
I flashed my manli GTX 970 successfully. but now it cant get along with the nVidia drivers anymore.

After a reboot my monitors simply shows me no signal and I cant do anything.
If I go into safe mode and delete the drivers via device manager, I can boot into windows just like normal. But if I try to restart, after the boot animation I got a blank screen again. So I have to go into safe mode again.

Sadly, I didnt do a backup of the bios and I cant find one. Moreover I cant even flash again. After the first flash, there was a new third .rom beside the GS and nolimits one.
I hope that this one is a backup of my old bios. So I tried to flash it, but in safe mode, there is a service that is not running and if I boot normally it just crashed and does nothing.
I tried it via USB, but there is a error massage, saying that nvflash cant be used in DOS mode.

Im pretty much clueless now and I have seriously no idea what to try now.

I hope somebody could help me with that!

And im sorry for my bad english, its 4:22 AM here and just tried 4 hours long to get my GPU working again.

I take by what you just said that you didn't use your own card BIOS and modded it, you took a different BIOS from a different card and flashed it. That's the mistake. I have a G1 and when I tried different BIOS than my own the drivers would mess things up also. It would blur the screen, making it almost unreadable.

I hope the third rom nvflash created is backup of your own, because it's the only thing I can see helping you now. Maybe try flashing your original rom from another computer since you get blank screens on yours.

Ok , but I have no problem of TDP , I got up from bios , I have two cards in SLI , with gpu tweak if I raise the voltage , a 1,262 marks , the other 1,212.

Just a quick question regarding my overkill 300W power target:

TDP shown in GPU-z/HWINFO is total draw power by the card, that means that the % there represents the W being used at the moment. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

So, even if only Firestrike Ultra can pull 94% from my 300W power target at 1.275v and 1607mhz clock, when there is a less demanding load (everything else other than firestrike ultra) the card wont pull the same 94% or even the whole 300W.

My point is: Isn't it nice to have some headroom on my power target so I know i'll NEVER hit max power and throttle? Because, AFAIK, the card won't be constantly under 300W energy, not even the 280W from firestrike ultra. Most games pull max 85% (255W). Also, 970 G1 base power target is 250def and 280max. So 300 is not out of this world.

If my power target is 300W it doesn't necessarily means the card will be pulling 300W.

First problem you probably have here is that after you remove the drivers, and boot back into Windows it tries to install drivers automatically - causing you this black screen. Use something like DDU which removes that "functionality" (basically you don't want Windows to install drivers).

http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/

I can't remember what switch / command actually does it but it's there, that program just has a tick on it that does it for you.

That should then allow you to boot back into windows with no black screen as no drivers are being installed. Once in windows you should then be able to flash firmware again.

That "package" for manli which I think you used has 3 .roms there, it's not your original. Techpower has no 970 manli BIOS versions either.. you could try in the 970 owners thread and ask for anyone with your card to post their BIOS.

Hello, I need a little help. I have Two EVGA 04G-P4-2974-KR's and i attempted to flash the 970 to this EVGA-GTX970-SCACX20.GM204-AIR.zip firmware, I followed all the instructions but when I reenabled the drivers the computer showed them in task manager as windows video device (default) it would not and would not recognize as a gtx 970, several hours of attempting to get it working, I flashed back to the original bios. but I really want apply this overlocked bios to my card. Does any one have a similar situation? Perhaps I'm using the wrong file for it? Please help smile.gif
