I'm asking that because I'll soon get another G1 for sli .

They seem to boost the same with power limits removed and clock steps set to my preferred voltage, such as 1212-1212, 1206-1206, 1200-1200 etc... I kept the lower ASIC card at one voltage step higher on it's BIOS tables for stability, and because it's my bottom card so it gets much less heat. (it was usually 1 voltage step higher on stock BIOS since it's ASIC 72% compared to 77% on my main card)

you could also try flashing from DOS. Try the HP USB tool and put the relevant nvflash and bios files on it after you create a DOS usb stick.

are you using Version 5.190?

By "power limits removed" you mean you've set your power limit to give enough headroom for both cards to reach the same clocks? And by clock steps set to your preferred voltage you mean that at your voltage table theres is no min-max voltage, for example, your clk70 is 1200-1200 instead of a min and a max like 1190-1200.

My card is 87% ASIC, I doubt I'm getting another one this good. My plan when I get the second one was to test it alone and see what is the max overclock I can get out of it at the V and W I'm comfortable with, and then duplicate the weakest overclock to the card other so that I guarantee that both cards will be able to reach the same clocks and perform exactly the same under load.

Thanks!

yeah 235w is as far as i can go so far, and in SLi they both seem to sync clocks when one hits a power limit. the voltage ranges are only so the BIOS can select a voltage based on it's ASIC quality, but I already knew where mine should be so I set the min/max to the same for each voltage step. 87% is really good, you should reach pretty high with that - or moderate on low volts.

tip: tab and shift+tab can scroll up/down the voltage tables to do quick adjustments with arrow keys. too bad there isn't a slider to scale them all like the boost tables.

Edit: very close to having a finalized STRIX 970 BIOS! did some more testing with XBAR/SYS/L2C, it did show a small improvement having them in sync. I tried a bunch of values, second best seemed to be: XBAR: 89.01 of GPC clock, SYS: 92.03 of GPC clock, L2C: 90.00 of GPC clock (following Asus' default offsets). the difference in 3DMark/Heaven was barely noticeable, but I think in sync might "feel" smoother, i don't know. one of my cards' memory doesn't wanna do 8GHz though so I'm at 7908MHz effective. no more voltage reliability issues from vdroop anymore at 235w after configuring voltage offset in GPU Tweak. running some overnight stress tests hopefully stable with my voltage/clock scaling when it hits the power cap.

Yes I am.
Overall i think I'm doing something wrong. I get it to boost to 1567mHz and running Heaven for hours without problems. I can push memory to +120mHz.
I use Precision X and upped the Voltage to max as well as powertarget. GPU-z tells me the card runs at 1,262V but only has a TDP of max 85%. This stays the same even when I bring fps in Heaven down to about 7-10 fps(v-sync off)

If I try to squeeze out more the drivers crash. Even 1 mHz more makes them crash. No artifacts before, nothing. They simply crash.

Question is, do I expect too much from this card?

that version is no go for moded bios , you need this one (nvflash_5.196.0.1-win )

odd, I've flashed about 100 times now with 5.190. maybe certain cards it doesn't work with?

modded bios or stock upgrade bios from manufacture ?

anyway, Joe dirt modded Nvflash works and should cover most all 9xx versions .

PS: if your using nvfalsh from Zoson zip, I think that is same one .
To make matters worse, MSI gives a nvflash version of 5196 but it won't work for modded bios same with Nvflash listed on many sites .
