I have a Problem, the gamestable replacement isn't stable on my cards

Got around 75°C temps and PC crashes in unigine Heaven with fragments.

Can someone help?

Just a bad luck in lottery I would say. You either need to add some extra voltage or lower your clocks.

Hi rsturtle, thx for guide. Nice one. May I have a question what is behavior of your fans within temperatures between 60 - 79C ??? According you bios, the rpms should constantly change from 0 - 34%. What's the speed of the fans if it is under 20%? In my card, because the fans are not able to run under ~450 rpms they start to make start/stop cycles in regular intervals. Is this normal behavior ?

Did you directly flash the rom or did you take your BIOS and copy over the settings? What card do you have?

I took directly the rom and I have 2 evga GeForce GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0

I changed some settings in that rom for the fans and 3Dcore and now Heaven is now stable without fragments o.O but get around 80°C

When doing this stuff, it is always best to know if heat is your limitation or not. I would recommend doing all your testing and benchmarking, especially while tweaking a custom BIOS, with your fan speed set to 100% and your case OPEN.

Once you are comfortable with your stability then you can introduce more heat to the equation by lowering your fan speeds and closing your case, and adjust accordingly (accounting for hot summer months also).

Good luck! thumb.gif

Basically in the bios you are setting points on the fan curve. They will run in a linear fashion between these points. My card will not spin below 20% fan speed, just like most all of the Maxwell cards. So yes, your fans not spinning is indeed normal! Upon flashing I believe that this changes that behavior, but you will have to try yourself or wait for someone else to chime in, as I have never tried. I suggest usuing fan curves in overclocking utilities over bios.

Thx for reply. The problem is that the fans are spinning bellow 20% but it is not constant. For example on 10% there will start spin for a second and then stop, then pause for 5s and then start again for a second and then stop. Then e.g. at 5% they will start spin for a second and then there is pause for 10s and then again. Only at 0% fans stop completely. So I wonder if this is some kind of hardware fault or if it is normal. I understand that fans cannot spin bellow 20% but this behavior is strange. In my opinion it would be much better if the fans would completely stop bellow 20% because these start/stop cycles are annoying the fans start to spin on 1000rmp for a second and then immediately stop...

Btw, this behavior is already on stock bios.
