This one is the result of LOTS of research and tweaking and I think it should work with most EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX2.0 with ASIC 70% or better.
The only situation where I could think it may possibly not work would be for some cards with really poor ASICS, like below 65%. You can check your card's "ASIC Quality" in GPUZ by right-clicking on the GPUZ Title bar and then "Read ASIC Quality". Mine is 70.2% so it's really an average card.

* Clock 1506 that is also kept (tested and verified), so GTA V, Heaven, Whatever will run at 1506 through the bank.
* NO THROTTLING in games.
* Voltages and down-clocking is working properly, means the lower CLKs get sufficient voltage unless with many other BIOS. Means that if you would want it to downclock, say by adjusting power target, this WORKS properly.
* TDP/power draw is increased "smartly", not some silly value. (Default of those cards is 170W.). I set default to 196W but you can increase with slider to 105% which is 206W. But I never needed this, in fact I leave slider always at 100%. No throttling in any game.
* The max voltage that I use is 1.187V. I tested and verified this with my card and have reason to assume that ANY card with ASIC 70% or better should also be able to do this. The only situation where I can see a card not making it is with a very poor ASIC. I see several benefits in "only" using 1.187V as opposed to 1.200V or 1.212V including to avoid "black screens", less heat and no throttling due to "voltage limit". I see no reason to use max. voltage if it makes 1506 fine with 1.187V. (My card won't make more than 1530 even with 1.212V anyway so it would be pointless).

If you use this BIOS you shouldn't do additional core overclocking with Afterburner or Precision. Except memory, you can OC memory, mine is at +420.

I want to share this BIOS since I really think it's a good one and it hasn't some of the issues of other BIOS, like "boost diabled" or messed up voltage tables. All increases of TDP etc. are also in "sane" ranges so it's "safe" to use on those cards.

The ASIC quality on my Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming Edition is 74.7% what exactly does this mean?

Not much in terms of overclockability. It may affect the voltage table of your card's BIOS, and therefor the compatibility with the BIOS that the gentleman created. A significantly lower ASIC may require more voltage to obtain a certain clock, but may also produce less heat. But generally will not affect the max clock of a card compared to others...that is still all part of the silicon lottery.

Ahh I see. Much like my old 660ti that had an ASIC quality of 87.1% I was able to overclock it higher on a lower voltage with less heat. Makes sense.

What he said. A s rule, better ASIC *might* mean less voltage required to achieve a certain overclock.

Also.."in practice", ASIC qualtiy determines where the card will boost at with stock bios. ASIC 70% max boost is CLK63, 1367, ASIC 72% cards/chips boost a bin higher, 1380 etc. Excellent ASIC cards will boost beyond 1400 at stock. So it's a "rough" indication about overclockability and volts needed.

This true 100% my 970s

one of them have ASIC 64% boot to 1367mhz while the other have 72% boost to 1392mhz biggrin.gif

This a SSC+? Those temps are crazy low, I really should get that Arctic Twin Turbo II...but then it's also the PSU which gets really loud so I think that just replacing the crappy loud ACX2.0 cooler alone is pointless. (In fact, the PSU is louder than my GPU fan at 47%, under high load)

Hey guys!
First time posting in this thread biggrin.gif

I have two Asus Strix 970's, one with 73,5% and the other with 60,4% ASIC Quality.
The 60,4% ASIC card hits PerfCap PWR and Vrel. Even at only 1380MHz, 120% Pwr Target and +37mV on the card.. It's a power and voltage hungry card tongue.gif
I have made some custom BIOS' for both of them from the original BIOS from both.
The Voltage table i have copied from one of the BIOS's in the Main post.

The goal is to have raised voltage and power and a 1300MHZ-ish clockspeed at stock boost. I want to see how far I can push them, and then make a custom BIOS with higher Clockspeeds.
Both cards are watercooled, and Max temp have been 39C on both cards while benchmarking. That is with a ambient of 28-29C..
Do you guys think that running 1.312V on Max boost is a bad thing if i want the cards to last over 1 year? Im planning on having these cards from 1-2 years. (I have said that before, but got bitten by the upgrade-bug..)
The cards will downclock and idle like normally as I don't wan't to push higher clockspeeds and voltages to the cards than necessary.
If someone would go through my BIOS' to make sure they should work, and not totaly **** up my cards in some way or another, that would be great! xP
970ModdedROM.zip 275k .zip file

It would have been much appreciated if someone took the time to take a look at it smile.gif

Pointless IMHO since those cards don't draw anywhere near 300W
