I got an idea. We see if we can bypass the check in nvflash. Hex edit maybe?

Sounds like a great idea. I don't have the slightest idea how to do that but I'll be your cheerleader thumb.gif

I'm already screwing around with the idea now. I have never used a debugger before so this may take a while lol. If anyone who has that would like to join in, please do! From what I'm understanding so far it kicks us out at 0018D528.

If its nvflash that is stopping us flash then you should be able to use ollydbg or similar to hex out that check.

That's what I have been using. I'm not a programmer so it is a lot of trial and error for me. I zeroed out 0018D528-0018D57C because I thought that was where it was starting the check but so far no luck.

Get a copy of ida pro as well, it should help. From what I've looked at using ida very briefly it compares value held in eax with memory address and jumps to the signature error if the compare is not equal to zero.

I'll get back to you with the exact location tomorrow if it's any good to you, but it's pretty easy to find I'd you want Me to point it out to you

I'll check that out when I get home. Heck yeah man, I'll take whatever help you can give.

Ida pro has some pretty good tools. Drag nvflash onto it to open, I'll detect it as a portable exe straight away. Shift-f12 will load strings window, then alt-t will bring up string search box. I searched for 'signature', shift-t goes to next found search term

Going to be doing a clean install of Win7 right now. This has been on multiple setups for the past 3 years and it is time for a full clean setup. I'll start rocking on that tonight after I'm done with the install. Thanks for the info on IDA sir. This should help a lot.
