This game is REALLY boring!

The 280x winning is probably just a bad driver on Nvidias side and it will be cleared up. It could also be the colour compression on the new cards which, while efficient, still get trumped by a larger bus and more bandwidth. I wouldn't judge the new series of cards based on Ryse though.

You keep telling this to yourself. And I'll keep telling this to you.....

That statement is literally about as vague as can be,you can keep posting that over and over and assume he's talking about gcn/Maxwell/kepler, but I think you know that after Nvidia releases some proper driver support for it, the 980/780ti will no longer be in the same position on the charts, and the 970 certainly won't

Afaik, compute performance isn't a driver thing.

Okay Okay !
GTX 970 at 1600 MHz core will be 166 Double Precision GFLOPS.
A single 280X at 1000 MHz core is 1024 Double Precision GFLOPS.

Did I say anything wrong ? Huh ?

What if some very specific things requires double precision ISA to be properly decoded or even just be decoded at all ?
Will GTX 970 be still faster ? Unless Nvidia magically enables DP in 970 which actually is never going to happen because of upcoming Titan II or equivalent card.

I ask you again. Have I missed somewhere in my calculations ? Because I am damn confidant about this, I am so confident about this that you can almost never disprove me in this topic at least.
Now before you call me an ignorant fanboy, read my post this from post# 265.
Quote:
I didn't mean that 280X is faster than 970. 280X can almost never be faster than 970. But there might be some very specific conditions in 1th% of time where 280X might shine a little bit, these may be related to compute. If not single, it may be due to double precision, as 280X has 1.0 TFLOPS of Double precision opposed to GTX 970's 0.1 TFLOPS. Though 99.9% time it will not be used in gaming.
Hence 99.9% time GTX 970 should be 50%+ faster than 280X, in gaming

Edit: No offence at all. I am also ready to be trolled if Nvidia magically improves driver that results in 70%+ improved fps over previous driver.
