btw that game doesn't seem to be using dp power for every thing, otherwise lol GTX Titan and 280X had won everywhere. A very specific part might have been using it that is resulting similar performance.
And indeed, who knows if it really using it or not. We are just speculating on the basis of what developers have written about it.

Single precision

Double precision needs to be enabled in driver. Its disabled by default for everything.

Which is why I said probably. And I'm not telling myself anything, I own 3 x 280x's and would like nothing more than for them to handle games well, which they do. I just don't have some stupid brand loyalty because it makes me feel warm and fuzzy at night. I think that with a Ryse specific driver the 970 will get a bump in perf and pass the 280x.

I also said that the colour compression plays a factor, which it certainly does.

My bad, I apologize if it felt to you any rude.

And yes, indeed !
I hope nvidia would fix this if GTX 970 still has power left, considering it has 43.7% more transistors than 280X. I also can't believe there is almost negligible real world performance difference in this game.

But there are some specific thing where 280X does win in compute. Who knows if similar instructions are being executed by Ryse as well !?

No problem, probably a misunderstanding. I would like to see compute be used more in games because there is so much untapped power there.

It's not spectacular. But imo it's a solid game. I've played it for about 5 hours and at no point did I really feel bored. The story is neat too. I think people who like this type of game will like this type of game. I think people who don't will enjoy the graphics at least.

all max with SSAA x1.5

Comparison with SSAA off and Χ1.5

SSAA Off:

SSAAX1.5:

And remember that a game at 30 fps is more cinematic tongue.gif:p:p
