But holy crap, if there's a first-time justification for a $1000 CPU in increased performance for a game, this is it.

And well, it will be so because the consoles being weak 8 Jaguar cores will require multithreading of the utmost degree to effectively use them anyway.

That makes no sense at all. 5960X should not that much faster.

Then someone has to verify the CPU benchmark, since as it stands now it's 10 FPS ahead of other CPUS on the same GPU:

all we need is multiple sources confirming this if this is really true, normally an regular OCed i5 should suffice... is that still the case?

Because its using 290X there could be some problem there.

Yeah BF will use the core but the problem is Intel. AMD need Mantle to match CPU performance Nvidia attains from DX11.
Frankly speaking DX11 is a lot more mature then Mantle so i would want to run DX11 over Mantle if there was no difference or its very small.

Do you want me to test i7 3770 stock vs FX 6300 OC?... i7 had problems with shanghai siege and was slower on both maps. (way slower min 45 FPS)

Using 1x8Gb 1600mhz vs FX 6300 4.5Ghz 2x 4Gb 2000mhz. But once you put 2x4Gb 2000 mhz i7 3.7Ghz was like 10% faster. So not that bad for FX CPU. Minimum was the same but avg. was like 6-7 FPS more. FX 6300 is really good for buged. Yeah in Bf4 FX is good but BF4 is optimized... BF3 is totally different i7 3.7Ghz is still "way" faster than FX 6300 5.0Ghz

"benchmarks wasnt GPU bounded"

The only problem with FX 6300 was power consumption at 4.5GHz (very stable - personally i prefer little more V).

I7 + mATX VS FX 6300 4.5Ghz ATX ( 2x4 GB 200mhz +... whole system + monitor + speakers (75W) )

i7 power consumption was very impressive for me... - this was not measured during benchmark but on a normal gameplay where GPU was 100% all the time.
i7 3.7Ghz = 270-285W... phfff
FX 6300 4.5Ghz = 345-365W
FX 6300 4.2Ghz = 310-325W

Thats the biggest problem of that CPU! very good and very cheap!

So FX at 4.5Ghz was using like 60- 95W more than i7.... that is a lot for CPU. SO prime 95 i7 110-115 vs 200-210W...
