Need new SSD?

Any 256 GB SSD suggestion? Will only use for mostly gaming. Already using 128 gb OCZ vertex 4 which is working good but almost full like 10 gb left with BF3 installed.

Crucial mx100. I've had a 512 gb in my gaming pc for a month now.. Its been real solid in my short time of use. Also i dont see a huge difference when i benchmark it against my 850 pro in the laptop.

the 840 pro is a great buy. slightly faster in certain areas slight slower in other areas (compared to the vertex 4) it like $160. which is a lot cheap than the vertex 4. i would go with that.

vertex 4 vs 840 pro 128gb but should be the same for the 256gb.

That read bug stopping me getting Evo and i was thinking of buying 850 pro but it won't benefit much in gaming so i am looking for MX100 but heard some BSOD related issue and don't know about crucial's reliability much.

how can you say that the 840 pro wouldn't be good for gaming. its has so much better read speeds over your current vertex?

Mushkin Chronos for budget, its definitely faster than my 840 EVO.
The read bug is being addressed and I must admit, I don't really notice any slowdown with games, maybe rarely used apps take a while longer to start up, but I don't have any great comparisons.

The Crucial MX100 is a fantastic bargain too, but I won't know until Christmas how good these are as I have two to install in my two sons' machines.

Sandisk Ultra II 256GB, same price as the Mushkin mentioned above but superior and NewEgg have a promotion on it, using the promotion it gets down to ~$100. There is no point buying a more expensive drive as you won't see the difference with video games or any other normal or typical use of your computer.

The 840 is cheap but its not the cheapest and it has a bug with old written data. The MX100 is also a very good drive but the Sandisk is cheaper and that really is the only discernible difference between the two. (With typical use). By typical I'm not talking about running 10VMs, photoshop and BF3.

Given how your in India and I don't know the pricing you could choose the cheapest out of these: Sandisk Ultra II, Crucial MX100 or OCZ Arc 100.

Too bad mushkin is not available in India so i am confused between Samsung or crucial. Crucial is available for $132 if i apply discount i am getting it for around $114.

Just get whatever is cheaper..... real-world gaming performance will be indistinguishable for all current SSDs.
