amd 7870 and forced performance

Hi i'm wondering how can i force my gpu to always work at max performance like even if the game isn't capable of using even 10% of the gpu on it's default clock gpu doesn't down clock itself to 450 mhz or 300 mhz and work like that....
When i play guitar hero It's jerky and laggy just because gpu is constantly switching from 300 and 450 mhz to 1.1 ghz... Always when it's overclocking or downclocking hick up occurs and causes fps to drop. I have no idea how to select this app to always force max performance just like nvidia has option to always be at max performance for select app. Anyone help plox! smile.gif

In MSI Afterburner, under the settings tab there is an option to disable ULPS. ULPS is power down mode.

I disabled ulps and it still in the windows was 300 mhz and it's supposed to be at 1 ghz default clock if i disabled ulps but it isnt it. :/ There has to be a way to disable throttling down of the gpu...

Increase power limit to 20%. ULPS works like this- as soon as you start up something that enables 3D clocks your GPU won't go back into power state mode but you need something to get it into 3D clock mode. Try a game and report back.

Try going into the profiles section of Afterburner and loading your 3d clocks in the 3d clock drop down, leaving the others blank. I've always had to do this on 7800 cards, as some games simply won't use my 3d clocks for whatever reason.
