V ram maddness - Page 16

Buying new hardware, without first trying to optimize things on what I have already, will break the bank though tongue.gif

Honestly though, I am going to try this on other titles and see how it does.... I am curious to see how it does on Far Cry 3 and Skyrim.....
Skyrim seems to only use 2 of my CPU threads, and GPU usage stays pretty low, while Far Cry uses 4 threads pretty heavily, and GPU stays pegged. I will report on the results for changing timer resolution for both later.....

1080p will look blurry if you play at 1440 or 2160 long enough. The hardware sure prefers playing at 1080p though, high res is so taxing redface.gif

Until 4k TV support is better from a media standpoint, I see no need to reach for that goal, considering I will ALWAYS have my PC in my living room and hooked to my TV, there is no in between from 1080p...

As of now, I feel like 1080P is still hi-res, and thankfully so, since hardware is still geared to run 1080-1600P resolutions. We can clearly see that by the 264 bit bus they put on the GTX970/980's......

See a big screen 4k TV in person, its truly a sight to behold when 4k content is playing. 4k blurays are supposed to hit the market in late 2015, so within a few years it should be much more prominent. Certain Netflix content is streaming in 4k now as well.

And on the PC, everything is 4k smile.gif except for most media, but the OS and games all support the resolution which makes it nice for a PC but maybe not a living room TV quite yet
