I think this is a problem that's going to work itself out over time anyway as GPUs become more efficient.

My pet peeve is how heavy these cards are creating a sag. I'm annoyed by it so much that I typically exclusively go with reference design.

Yes indeed.
It would be a duct from front to back with 12 pipes running through the fins.

I factually building something like this the fins would be attached like Phanteks and Cryorig do; have a fin on each side. The heat pipes would be 'U' on each end so couldn't slide the fins onto them.

Heat pipes would need to be staggered to balance the heat transfer because the pipes toward the back of case would be using hotter air than pips at front.

Hey guys.... Heat =/= Temperature.

If you dont want heat dumped into the case. stop worrying about temperature of the card as long as it it within spec.

buy into blower coolers.

Problem with those is they're so darn loud haha

Do I wish my non-reference dual-fan heat-dumped-into-case GPU was better? Of course, but I'll take higher temp internals to have quieter and relatively cooler components overall.

Blower or axial, I think our main point is that you could build a higher quality cooler that isn't too expensive.


Something that performs at least as well as current blowers, but uses quieter and higher quality fans.


Arctic comes close with their accelero line, now that I think about it, but still pricey.

The Accelero line are decent coolers but it's still dumping all the heat inside the case though.

I did a build with a divider between PCIe and CPU to keep their airflow separate with a duct from bottom intake to Graphics card intake. Worked very well, was fugly as all get-out.

Yeah I think a devision of airflow is probably the best.

Or just get waterblocks.
