Hey... I didn't see it in this thread and I checked the Samsung 840/850 club thread; no mention there either. And this thread didn't have a post for over two weeks.

TechSpot just mentioned the new firmware and I've not seen any new news updates over at AnandTech or ExtremeTech either and I follow both of their RSS feeds.

Uhhhh...what?

I was just joking cuz its been out for almost a month and hes only hearing about it now. Its already been discussed and it looks like no one really cared. Toms hardware only got like 3 posts and the thread died, anandtech got like 6 than died. This thread and the 840 evo thread had a few then died as well.

I wrote it the week the firmware was released but it didn't get published until now...

I updated the 840 I have here a few days ago. Before doing it, I sadly had refreshed the drive about two months ago, so its performance wasn't terrible. Still, when running a test over the surface of the drive, there were some spots with around 350 MB/s speeds. After the firmware update, those were all gone. The speeds were completely perfect, meaning 500 MB/s everywhere.
