Depends on ambient temps but the stock heatsink or any cheapo one will be fine for stock settings, as long as it comes with some half decent thermal paste it will be just fine, overclocking would require something a little better but with the non k 2500 it will be fine thumb.gif

Edit: Basically what iinversion said, I would not overclock via BLCK, all sorts of problems could occur if the board does not like it, its hit and miss really, some people can run BLCK at 110 with no issue's, some cannot even make 103, I would not recommend it personally.

but the i5-2500 comes with turbo boost function. is that advisable? (with an aftermarket heatsink of course) smile.gif

Yea boost will be fine for stock heatsink, I doubt Intel would ship them with the boost feature otherwise thumb.gif

Edit: Enable boost and see how the temps are while under load, anything under 80c is perfectly fine, 85c would also be acceptable but I don't like running them any hotter then 80c.
