Of the cloth pads I've tried:

QCK
Goliathus Control
Kabuto
Alioth 400
Raindrop XL

The Raindrop XL has the lowest static friction. It doesn't stop as quick as the other pads; but I'm able to stop on a dime (sometimes I overshoot on hard pads.)

The Alioth has slightly more static friction, equal dynamic friction:
http://www.amazon.com/Mionix-Alioth-400-Gaming-Mousepad/dp/B001RU0NS6

Sometimes they're $9.99 free shipping.

Edit:
Enotus says over 4 m/s with a Xornet @ 500 dpi 6/11 on the Alioth.

I absolutely adore the feel of a worn out QcK but hate it when it's new/washed as it's too fast/slippery. Puretrak Stealth or Allsop Raindrop?

Stealth (which is really just a recolored small Talent) will eventually become slower but it'll take plenty of time until the entire pad is that way. Allsop is pretty slow from the get go and stays like that for a very long time. Would recommend, I like consistency.

In my experience it's kind of weird with the QCK and depends on how new/clean it is. I actually much prefer an old, sort of dirty (not gross) to a new one, new ones have awful initial movement or static friction. But compared to my old QCK, the initial motion is better on the G-CM, but stopping is slightly better on the QCK.
It may seem silly, but when stopping is an issue on a really fast pad for me, I do sort of a hook shot when I play an FPS. I turned up my DPI to exaggerate it, but here is a quick paint comparison between the three, with a small flick. That red arrow is showing a perfect line, but it returns that far with a "hook". The Raiden is obviously the worst when it comes to ease of stopping.

I noticed I do the same thing but slightly different. I swipe my mouse out to the point where it needs to go, click, and then swipe back really fast. This way I don't need to stop, I just have to time my mouseclick right (another reason I don't want the FK1).

Tried the Avior and FK1 side by side in terms of click latency and couldn't even tell the difference.

That would be actually something if one could see or feel the difference.^^

I really couldn't. Never really hurt or changed my play except to make it better when I moved to the FK1.

Another vote for the MM200 XL.

I'm able to get much better small accurate mouse movements on a MM200 than a QcK. The pad also feels to be made of better quality materials. IMO the perfect alternative to a Talent (when you require more control vs. more speed). I also really, really like how the FK1 (equipped with MS Hyperglides) feels on this pad. Ironically, I like the FK2013 much better on a Talent though due to it being a more nimble mouse (I'm able to control it better on a faster pad).

Just my 2 cents.
